Karina was in a blind murderous rage as she was accelerated to her brother. She blasted fire from the back of her right leg, increasing her momentum as she kicked at his head. But Brian ducked. But Karina let the momentum and fire spin her around, and she used her left leg to kick him in the chest making him stumble back. Once she landed back on the floor, she brought her arms out, covered in fire, and swung them back in going across her chest. A wave of red fire mixed with blue shot forward but Brian blasted fire from his feet to fly over it. Yet Karina saw that coming and she was already blasting fire above the wave she created. Brian flew around dodging her blast for a few seconds making Karina growl in frustration. She ended the continuous blast and flew up into the sky herself, shooting straight for Brian.

He shot his own blast of fire at her, but Karina raised her right hand at the oncoming flames and flew straight into it. The fire split around her and when she reached Brian she headbutt him as she lit her head on fire, doing the same to his. He let out a scream as she grabbed him by his shirt and used her fire to drive him into the ground. He coughed, spitting out blood, yet a manic grin was on his face. He ignited his chest on fire and flared it up to reach Karina, forcing her to use her fire to jump away to avoid being burned.

She could feel her heart beating wildly in her chest, it ached like someone dropped an elephant on her, but she couldn't stop now. She didn't want to. But if she didn't she would die before she could kill him. She needed her pills, an extra dose should give her enough time. Or at least some. Did she have them? She usually did. She patted her pants pocket and found her two compartment pill case. Perfect. She quickly pulled it out and forced herself to dry swallow the pills before tossing the empty case to the side.

When she was finished, Brian made his way back on his feet, and she immediately charged at him again. He flew into the air to avoid her and she gave chase, occasionally throwing blasts of fire, him doing the same. The red flames, mixed with blue, exploded in the night sky like fireworks. It would've been pretty under any other circumstances. But for everyone still on the ground it wasn't.

They were circled around Wednesday whose entire body was charred to black. All of them were crying. How the hell had this happened? Well they knew how, but how? They had a plan, everything could've worked, why did Karina go off on her own?

Footsteps running toward them made them look down the street whence they came. Yet they were extremely confused when they saw three figures run out of a blue portal and straight for them. It was hard to tell who it was in the dark, but as they came closer the fire around them illuminated their faces. It was Morticia, a short old women, and ... Wednesday?

Bianca who had been kneeling by the dead Wednesday stood up with wide eyes. "What the—"

"No time to explain!" Wednesday yelled at them. She slide on her knees next to the dead her and pulled out a needle that contained glowing orange liquid. She moved the charred corpse onto its back and stabbed the needle into the heart, injecting the liquid. "Come on," she muttered to herself. "I promised to bring you back so don't you dare make me a liar."

Two weeks earlier

"Riley?" Wednesday walked up to the boy in the hallway. "I need your help."

He shoved his hands in his pockets and gave a teasing smile. "I'm surprised you're not going to literally anyone else. What's up?"

"You're the only one who can help me." She crossed her arms. "I'm returning home to brew and extremely complicated potion with my mother and Grandmama. It'll take two weeks. I need you to pretend to be me for that time."

Riley's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Why?"

"Because the less who know of this plan the better."
