"ACE!" As if in a slow motion, Ace's body slowly fell into the ground, but I took hold of him immediately before he could hit the wet pavement.
"Ace please. Don't close your eyes. Please hold on love. Please." I said pleading.
As I scan his body, he was shot on his right shoulder. With trembling hands and heavy breathing, I covered the spot where he was shot. Blood gushing out of the wound while Ace slowly closing his eyes.
"No Ace. Please. Don't close your eyes. I'll call 911. They'll be here in no time." I fetch my phone on my pocket and dialed 911, but Ace stopped my hand.
"L-liam" He shakes his head. My tears started to drop one by one until I wasn't able to hold them anymore.
I shouldn't have insisted on meeting you. It's my fault. I'm so sorry Ace. I failed to protect you again.
Ace slowly closes his eyes.
I saw Paul, Jacob and Stellan came running to our side. I also saw an unfamiliar face. I don't know how they manage to find us because I can't think of anything at the moment.
"Felix dalhin natin si Ace sa hospital." Jacob said when they're near us.
"How did you find us?"
"We'll explain later. Unahin muna natin si Jayce."
I lifted Ace's body as Jacob ushered me to his car.
Paul and Stellan were left on the crime scene.
I positioned Ace on the backseat, his head on my lap. I hold his hand the whole travel until we reach the hospital.
We were immediately attended by the doctors and nurses. They asked us what happened and Jacob answered their questions for me. They bring Ace into the emergency room. We were told not to enter the room.
I was walking back and forth nibbling on my fingernails in anxiousness.
"Hey, Jayce will be alright. Matapang siya. Kaya niya 'yan." Jacob taps my shoulder in an attempt to comfort me.
Police officers came and told us that they are here to protect us. They stand guard not far away from us.
A nurse when out of the room looking distraught.
"Sir sino po ang guardian?"
"Ako po." I said.
"Kaano-ano niyo po ang pasyente?"
"Boyfriend. Boyfriend ko po ang pasyente." She looks confused for a moment, but she nodded after awhile.
"Kailangan niya po agad maoperahan para maalis ang bala sa balikat niya at kailangan rin po niyang salinan ng dugo." I just kept on nodding at her. "Bago po ang lahat, kailangan niyo po munang magsign ng waiver."
I followed the nurse on the nurse's station and she handed me the waiver. I immediately signed it.
