Chapter 17 - Move On? Not Likely.
Autumn's P.O.V.
"There's nothing to talk about Alexander," I said, leaning back into my chair, looking Max straight into his eyes. I watched as he flinched and winced at the mention of his best friend's full name.
"Alexander? Since when did you call him that?" he asked. He looked at me with eyes that held so many emotions. The one that hurt me the most was pain. He was in pain because I ended our friendship when my relationship ended with Alexander.
I just looked at him with a look. Realization flashed through his eyes as he leaned back into his chair.
"Oh," he said. I smiled somewhat and shook my head. Only Max can catch on that slow.
"Look, Autumn, you need to speak to him, he's in pain. He's a stupid dick that doesn't realize things until he's lost them. Please, Autumn, I hate seeing you act like nothing is wrong. I know that you're hurting on the inside," he begged. He was right. I was hurting on the inside. I didn't want to admit it, but he was right on the spot for that one.
"I'm not going to talk to him about what happened, Max. What's done is done," I said in a final tone.
"Autumn, please, you can't end things like this, don't you want a happy ending or any of that shit that girls always say?" he asked. I stood up from my seat and leaned over my desk, my palms on the desk. I narrowed my eyes and watched as he leaned further away from me and gulp.
"My happy endings disappeared the day my mother died," I hissed as I stood back up and stormed out of the office. I flew past the living room, where my father and the Balder family were sitting at. I could tell that all of them were looking at me questioningly, but there was no time for me to stay and chat. My wolf wanted control and I was sure that if I didn't give her control any minute, the whole house would be destroyed in a matter of seconds.

"Autumn, wait!" shouted Autumn's father. We watched as she ran down the hallway and shifted, knocking down the front door. We watched as the front door came off it's hinges and fell backwards. Upon connection with the floor, the house shook violently. A couple seconds later, the house stopped shaking as everything went back to normal. My family all looked over at me with a glare.
"Alex, why the hell would you suddenly reject Autumn all of a sudden?!" screeched my sister. I looked over at her.
"You wouldn't understand," I mumbled, looking anywhere but at my family.
"Try us," challenged my mother. I sighed and looked at her.
"Because!" I shouted, anger boiling within me.
"Because what?!" they shot back.
"Because I'm afraid I won't be able to be a good Alpha for this pack!" I shouted back. Everyone fell silent. Until, laughter floated from behind me. I turned around and saw Max, laughing at me.
"What?" I hissed. He stopped laughing and looked at me with a disbelief look.
"You weren't joking about that?" he asked. I glared at him and shook my head.
"Oh, Alex. You're so damn blind," he mumbled.
"Watch it, Max," I spat. He just shrugged and walked over towards me.
"How am I blind?" I asked, after processing his words.
"Can you not tell that Autumn is too in love with you that she wouldn't even give a flying fuck on how you help her run her pack?" he asked.
