Chapter 2 - Wrong Timing...
Autumn's P.O.V.
PICTURE OF ALEX ON THE SIDE
No...no...no. This couldn't be...This is the wrong timing for a mate! I stared at the forest green eyes. My eyes roamed his body as his did the same. He was handsome and cute. He had a strong jaw-line and blonde hair. Then it hit me...he must be the owner of the woodsy/fresh air scent. I took in some air throughout my nose...yup. He indeed is my mate. Could I allow him to be the one and only to break through my barriers, aside from my little brother and sister? He's a werewolf, plus he's Alpha Balder's son, he would understand what've been through and go slow, right?
"Alex, what's wrong? Say something," said Luna Balder.
Alex didn't break eye contact as he answered his mom "I think I just found my mate...".
I heard two gasps. It was from Luna Balder and Annalise.
My eyes continued to search his eyes for any rejection or anything. Nope. Nothing. His eyes were full of happiness and a hint of lust.
I did the only thing I knew what to do for the past few years...I ran. I ran away from my mate.

I stood there, trying to focus on what just happened...she ran away from me. I tried to run after her but someone stopped me. I looked over my shoulder and saw Autumn's Beta. He shook his head.
"Give her sometime," he said. I was confused. Time for what? He must've noticed that I was confused.
"Come with me," he said. I nodded my head. I walked side by side with him until we were in a study room. Then I noticed, this was probably Autumn's office. Her scent was all over it.
"What does she need time with?" I asked, breaking the silence. Her Beta sighed and looked at me.
"She's been through a lot.." he trailed off. I looked at him, even more confused than ever.
"As you notice, she acts like a bitch to everyone in school," he said. I nodded my head. Some girls kept saying how she was mean and how she acts like a bitch the day she arrived at the school.
"The reason why she's like that is because she's afraid is she get's attached to someone, she'll end up loosing them," he said.
"I understand that, but I don't understand what it has to do with me, her mate," I said.
He sighed. "She never wanted a mate. The reason for that is because you're the only person who can awake any of those feelings she bottled up for years, plus you're the only one who can break through her barriers she built up around herself."
"Oh," was the only thing I could say. I decided to give her sometime. After a few more minutes of talking with her Beta, we made our way back into the ball room. Just in time for Autumn to make her announcement.
Autumn stood there with Luca and Lani beside her. Lani on the right, Luca on the left. One of Autumn's guard let out a bark, silencing everyone. They quickly noticed Autumn standing there before them.
Everyone got down on one knee, including me, while saying, "Alpha Autumn".
Autumn let out a chuckle. "Please, please. everyone get up. Also, stop it with the formalities, everyone here knows I hate formalities."
