Chapter 18 - Complicated Hours
Autumn's P.O.V.
"No, no, no. I think that the charity event should be held at the Riverbank, where there is more room and space for kids and parents to run around without bumping into another person," said a CEO.
I was currently missing school just so I can acompany my father on a business meeting on where the Charity Event should be held at. The Chairty Event is a annual thing, this year would be the 26th anniversary of it. The event was to help raise money for chairity's around the world and also help donate money to those who are in need of money for medical issues.
"No, it should be held where it normally is, at the mall parking lot," commented another CEO. I glanced over at my father and saw him grimace at the idea.
"Definitely not. Now that I look back at the 25 years, I hate the idea of holding it at the parking lot. It's too crowded and not to mention, it would hold up a lot of traffic on the streets," jumped in my father. Seeing as my father was the richest man in this room, no one dared to speek up against his word. Plus, we were the one sponsering this thing, so they couldn't afford to lose our sponser.
"How about we hold it on the field outside of the racing stadium?" I proposed. Everyone turned to look at me.
"Elaborate," said the founder of the Charity Event. I nodded and grabbed my laptop. I began to look through pictures of the racing stadium where I usually race at. I found a perfect picture and grabbed a extension cord to connect the projector to my laptop. The image of the stadium showed up on the white board.
"Here," I said moving my mouse towards the outter side of the stadium, where a large, grassy field occupied the space.
"It has tons of room, maybe about three times the Riverbank, not only that but we can also hold races all day long. So if anyone gets tired of the games at the Charity Event, they can come into the stadium to watch racers, including me, race," I said. Everyone looked thoughtful.
"If we do this, we'll lose money, since many of the racers managers are expected to be paid for each game. If I calculate this correctly, the total for each manager/racer is a couple thousand dollars for the whole day," said a lady, who just seemed to be the co-CEO.
"Not if we ask them to do this for the Charity Event. A lot of racers would do anything to get a good word out about them so they would gain more fans, which leads to more money since the fans would buy tickets to see them race, it's basically a win-win situtation. The only money that would be used in this project is the money to build the Charity Event," I said.
"Now that, is what I call negotioating," proudly said my father as he brought me into his arms. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him.

After the meeting, my father and I sorted out the papers, signing all over the place. When we left the building, the both of us got into the limo and made our way towards the stadium. When we got there, my father and I showed the constructors where we plan on having the games, booths, and all that stuff set up at. Luckily, the racers were practicing in the stadium. So I just left my dad and entered into the stadium. I smiled when I saw my buddies, Cole and Jack. The both of them were currently going at it while the rest of the racers cheered them on. Cole ended up beating Jack only by a couple of seconds. Cole and Jack hopped out of their cars and began to laugh while grabbing each other, and holding each other in a head lock.
"Cole, Jack!" I shouted. The both of them stopped, along with the other racers, before they glanced over at me. Everybody grinned and jogged over to where I was. I was brought into many bear hugs before I was placed on my feet again.
