Chapter 12 - Alpha Meetings

Alex's P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning, patting the space next to me, where Autumn laid last night. Cold. Where the hell is she? Did she really leave me here alone after yesterday? I sighed and got up out of bed. I pulled over a t-shirt and left the guest bedroom. I looked around for Autumn, where could she go? I continued to search the house effortlessly, it wasn't easy, since the house was so huge; plus there are a bunch of rooms she could be in. I saw a male servant walking down the hallway, so I decided to ask him.

"Hey, you!" I yelled. The man looked up and came walking over to me.

"Yes, Alpha?" he asked in a polite tone.

"Do you know where Autumn is?" I asked.

"Alpha Autumn is in a meeting right now. I can take you to her," he said.

"Okay," I said. I really wonder why didn't she wake me up so I can go with her? I mean, I'm future Alpha, plus I'm her mate...she better have some good God damn explanation. After a few minutes of walking and turning, we came to a stop in-front of a door, that held people shouting back and forth behind it. The servant walked away, leaving me alone. I sighed and opened the door. All shouting quickly stopped as they looked over at the doorway. I spotted Autumn at the head of the table, looking tired and drained. My father sat on her right side, looking quite angry. The whole room was filled with Alpha's. Ah, this is an Alpha meeting.

"Alex?" asked Autumn. I looked over at her and narrowed my eyes, I watched as her eyes flicker with regret before turning back to normal.

"What are you doing here, son? You should be resting," said my father. I looked over at Autumn and saw her looking down at the table in-front of her.

"Soon-to-be Alpha Alex, how are you feeling?" asked Alpha Kern.

"Better," I said; dismissing my father's words.

"Well, come and join us. Shut the door behind you, we could always use an extra member to settle the argument," said Alpha Kern. I nodded and shut the door. I walked over to the empty seat next to Alpha Kern and sat down.

"As I was saying," said Alpha Jim, throwing me a look before continuing, "we can't bring the werewolf council into this just yet. We have to make an approximate amount of scouts before we can let them join in. If we let them in on everything early, it'll cause chaos."

Everybody was silent; I was just lost. I assumed they were talking about yesterday.

"Alpha Autumn, what do you think?" asked one Alpha. I looked over at Autumn and saw her breath in through her nose before exhaling through her nose again, if anything, she looked like she wanted to just dismiss everything and go to sleep.

"Alpha Jim, I understand what your saying, but this goes back to yesterday, again. This time I'll have to agree with Alpha Balder and Alpha Kern. This isn't some type of game we're trying to play. This is real, we must consider the fact that we have to include the werewolf council, regardless of what you say. We can't take matter into our own hands this time, I'm afraid if we do, we'll make things worse," said Autumn.

Alpha Jim stood up and slammed his fist onto the table. "Bullshit! Alpha Autumn, you know I respect you, but you know we should attack them, before they attack us! This is a game, to them! To them, we're a joke! We have to make a move. I understand you want to be able to protect your pack, but we all know, that some won't make it back alive!" he shouted. This caused everyone to start arguing, again.
