As she enters the house after fumbling with her spare keys, she sees in relief that everything is fine and nothing's wrong....yet.
As if on cue, footsteps are heard coming down the stairs. Without wasting a second, she runs to the stairs and screams at the top of her lungs "MOM STOP!!"
The old lady, obviously surprised by the sudden disturbance halts abruptly. She first looks surprised to see her daughter here which turns to confusion. After a moment she slowly asks, "what...?" Natalie runs up to her mom and hugs her. The old lady hugged back after a moment then asks "What happened? What are you doing here dear..?"
Natalie didn't know how to express her emotions so she just shook her head and stood silently..
~
-At evening-
Natalie had somehow covinced her mom that nothing's wrong and had gone to sleep. She didn't know why and how this came to be but nonetheless she was very grateful for the opportunity she got to save her mom.
She woke up this time to the sound of her ringing phone. She woke up with a groan and picked up "Hello..?" On the other end was her co worker Emily. She was a nice woman and could be considered as a friend. Her voice came from the other side
Emily : "Hey.. Natalie? Are you fine? You went so abruptly at the morning.."
Natalie : Yea I'm fine. I just had....some urgent business to take care of. Sorry about that in the morning..
Emily : Oh alright.. if you say so.. Me, Derek and Ethan were worried..
Natalie : Aw thanks..but I'm fine, really.
.
.
After some more reassuring they started chatting about different topics, sometime after which they end their conversation on a note to meet up tomorrow.
"Tomorrow...was supposed to be today.." Natalie thinks to herself. But...even if all this had happened, she couldn't completely grasp how all this could be possible. Nevertheless "what happened has happened" and she was indeed very happy to have been there to save her mother.
