AMITY POV:

I decided that I'm going to tell Luz about Cleo's plan. How else is she going to figure it out? However, I don't know how I'm going to tell her yet. I'm hoping that Luz believes me.. If she doesn't I'll probably cry.

I get up out of bed and go to Luz's room, raising my hand and knocking. "Come in!" I hear Luz say. I open up the door slowly.

"Hey," I say, "I need to talk to you about something." I sit down next to Luz on her bed, contemplating how to start what I'm going to say.  I literally said I needed to plan it, and I just came in here without doing anything.

Luz nods her head, showing that she is listening, "okay, what is it?"

"Have you talked to Cleo recently?" I question, not making eye contact with Luz, because if I do, it'll make me nervous and I'll probably start stuttering a lot.

"No, not really. Why?" Luz asks me. This is when I have to tell her Cleo's plan. I don't even know where to start. I mean, all I have to say is that Cleo is a spy for my mom... That sounds like something out of a movie.

However, it's true. So, if I don't tell Luz I'll end up regretting it. "Um, my mom wants me to stop talking to you and Cleo is a part of her plan.." I get out, really fast.

I look up at Luz's face, and she looks confused and concerned. "What? Are you sure?" Luz questions. I wouldn't really believe myself either if I was Luz, so I don't blame her for asking.

"Yes, I'm sure. Luna told me, and Luna and Cleo are like best friends," I state, hoping this will at least convince her a little bit to believe me.

"Can you, like, give me more details. What exactly is the plan?" Luz asks, showing concern in her voice. I don't actually know the plan.. I don't know what Cleo or Odalia might do to separate me from Luz.

"Uh. I don't know what Odalia or Cleo might do, but all I know is that they want us to stop talking and to act like strangers," I state. Umm.. What I just said probably won't help her believe me. I probably just made it worse.

Luz just stares blankly at me, clearly not knowing what to say. Shit.. I definitely made it worse. "Are you, like, really sure this is true? What if you're just taking it the wrong way?" Luz questions.

"I don't think I am. Unless Luna lied to me about Cleo telling her," I say, looking down at my lap.

Luz looks like she doesn't know what to say. "Amity.. I don't know if I believe you, there's barely any proof," Luz states. I look back up at her, and she kind of, concerned.

"Would you believe me if Luna told you instead of me?" I ask.

"Maybe a little bit more.." Luz says, hesitantly.

Oh.

"Do you not trust me?" I question her, making direct eye contact with her.

"I do trust you. It's just that Luna and Cleo are best friends, so it would be better to hear it from Luna," Luz answers.

"Okay," I mumble. Luz doesn't trust me. I didn't expect that... I mean, I didn't expect her to believe me right away, but she doesn't believe me at all.

AMITY POV:

Me and Luz were outside of Luna's dorm. Waiting for her to answer the door. I suddenly heard the door knob moving, and look down at it. I really hope it's Luna and not Cleo.

Whoever it is opens the door, and when I look up and can see their face, I realize it's Luna. Thank God.

"Hey, Luna," I say. I sounded a little more serious than I wanted to. But whatever.

"Hey Amity! And hey Luz! What are you guys doing here?" She questions, looking back in forth between me and Luz.

"We just wanted to talk," I state, "can we come in?"

"Of course," Luna answers and opens the door more and moves to the side to let us both in.

Me and Luz take our shoes off and then move to the couch and sit down. Luna comes and sits down on the couch next to Luz.

"Sooo.. What'd you guys want to talk about?" She asks, having an obvious confused facial expression on her face.

"Is Cleo here?" I ask, just in case she could here us.

"No, she's out shopping with... I don't know who, but someone..." She claims, "why?"

"I wanted you to tell Luz about her plan," I reply.

"Oh, okay," Luna says.

AMITY POV:

"Luz. You said you would believe Luna," I state.

"I know. But it just doesn't seem real," Luz says. She seems a little mad, like we are accusing Cleo for no reason.

"I swear it is," Luna claims, "she told me." She was probably hoping this would make Luz believe us more. But it actually made it worse.

"Yeah? Do you have proof?" Luz questions, defending Cleo. Even though she isn't even here.

"No..." Luna answers while looking down, "However, I didn't know where the conversation was going. Why would I record? And she didn't text it to me."

"Then I don't believe it," Luz says, very sternly.

"Luz, why don't you believe us?" I ask.

"You guys don't have proof, and Cleo is nice. I've never seen her be mean to anyone," Luz replies.

"You just met her," I say, almost yelling. I don't mean to get so loud, but I don't know why Luz doesn't believe me. I've been her friend for a long time. I don't have a reason to lie about this.

"Okay?! That doesn't mean anything," Luz yells and stands up, "just because I just met her, doesn't mean I can't be on her side and defend her!"

I want to cry. I didn't think it would be easy, but I never expected it to turn to this either.

"Why can't you just trust me?!" I ask, getting up to stand, too.

"Luna is her best friend Luz!" I say. "Was.." Luna whispers, chiming in. "Why don't you believe Luna?! Me and her have no reason to lie about this."

Luz looks at me, with very serious and stern eyes. I stare back at her, waiting for her to say something.

"I don't know why Cleo would see the need to do something like that. She's a nice girl," Luz says.

I keep staring back at her, a little shocked by her response. If Cleo's a nice girl, then I'm not a lesbian.

"Okay. You're just helping with her plan. Have fun never talking to me again," I say. I didn't even notice the tears that have been falling out of my eyes. I wipe one off of my cheek.

"Sure, I will," Luz replies. Staring at me for about 10 seconds, and then puts her shoes on and walks out of Luna and Cleo's dorm.
