LUZ: POV

I go through the portal. I immediately run into someone in the head. I hiss at the pain and put my hand on my forehead to rub it. "Shit, I'm so sorry," the person I ran into apologizes. 'I recognize that voice..' I look up to see a girl, she has purple dyed hair, very pale skin, golden eyes, and her lips looked soft. 'Wait, why am I thinking that??' I shake my head. "Hey, it's fine. No worries," I say after looking at every detail of her.

"Wait, Luz?" When she said that, I actually looked her right in the eyes and noticed her right away. I don't know how I didn't notice before. "Amity? Why are you in the middle of the woods," I asked, clearly confused. She was also holding a lot of books. "Oh. Eda's been making me bring her books to the library since you left," Amity stated. Amity didn't seem like she had changed. She seemed like the same quiet, smart, and talented witch that she had been when I left. Nothing about her personality changed.

"Do you need help? You have like 15 books in your hands..." I said, concerned because she was wobbling all over the place. "Uhhh yeah, I could use some help," the golden eyed girl responded. I took about half of the books that she had, maybe a little more. I didn't wanna give her more than I had. We began our way to the library.

After about a 15 minute walk, we stood at the entrance of the library. Amity had been leading the way the whole walk to the library since I kinda forget and she's been doing this for a while now. Amity pulled her ID badge away from her neck, scanned it, and the doors opened. We walk in. Nothing has really changed since I've been gone. Except it looked cleaner.

Amity leads me to the counter, and she sounds down her pile of books. I set my pile down next to hers. While the counter dude scans them all, she leads me to the children's area. I still remember when I first caught her reading here. 'It was honestly really cute...' I feel heat rise to my cheeks. 'No. Don't say that, you just got back!!' I mentally facepalm myself.

We go sit down on one of the blue bean bag chairs. "So uh. What do you wanna do, since we're already here," Amity asks, shyly. "I have a lot of questions... What has it been like with me gone," I ask. I honestly do have a lot of questions, I wanna know what my other friends are up to and if they've changed. "Well, no one has really changed personality, but they've definitely changed physically," the purple haired girl stated, "Willow is tall now. I know, surprising. She's like 5'9? Her hair has also grown out some." I never expected Willow to get to be 5'9, that's something I really wanna see. "Gus is still short. I think he'll be short his whole life. He's like 5'4. And in college... Kinda sad," Amity giggled. I looked at her while she laughed. She was so pretty. Platonically, of course...

For the rest of the time at the library, Amity told me about everything that has changed. I then realized I hadn't gotten to Eda and King. I checked the time on my phone, it read 4:26pm 'Damn.. almost 4 hours?' I got my 2 suitcases and me and Amity said our goodbyes. I then walked to the owl house.

It was about a 25 minute walk to the owl house. The woods were very peaceful and beautiful. The breeze was nice. I've always loved the autumn breeze. The way the boiling isles looks in general is just breathe-taking. I could admire it's beauty forever.

I saw the owl house starting to appear in my view. I started walking faster. Hooty saw me and didn't recognize me for a second. He then went crazy. "Oh my god!!!!!!! Luz!!!!! Where have you beeeeeeen???!!! It's been soooooo long!!! I need to get Eda and King!!! Hoot," he then opened the door he was attached to and went inside the owl house to get Eda and King. I heard some things crash... And some yelling. Hooty finally came out of the owl house and so did Eda and King. "King!!" I yelled, running towards him. "Luz!!" King yelled, while running towards me immediately. I held my arms out and he jumped into them. I spun us around. I missed these type of hugs from King. I set him down and pet his head. I stood up and hugged Eda. I don't think Eda gets hugs still, but she hugged be back pretty fast. "I missed you guys so much," I said. "We missed you too, kiddo," Eda responded back.

"How about we go inside, and get you settled," Eda said, but it was more of a question. "Okay! I have a lot of stuff so.." I stated. "It's fine. We have space. I've sold a lot of junk." Eda replied. "Woahhh.. You? Edalyn Clawthorne? Sell junk? That's definitely new." I said, sarcastically, but I meant it. Eda scoffed and we went inside. King followed behind us. "Go upstairs and get settled in your new room, I can make dinner," Eda said, walking over to the kitchen. I gave her a thumbs up, got my 2 suitcases, and went up the stairs.

I went to the same room I had before. It looked the same too, just without the sleeping bag. I then pulled a different sleeping bag out of one of my suitcases and put it on the floor, it was way more comfortable.

After setting up all my decorations, I put my pajamas on and got on my phone for a little. I started to text my mom.

I smiled at the message. I turned off my phone, plugged it in, and went downstairs. The smell of the dinner that Eda was making filled the air, and it smelled so good. Eda made chicken and vegetable enchiladas. How did she even get this food? Last time I was here, all of the food was food on the boiling isles, no human food.

We ate dinner and talked about what has happened since I've been gone. Just like I did with Amity. Eda said that she has gotten closer with her ex, Raine. I've always shipped them since she told me the story of her and Raine, so I'm glad they are finally getting closer again. I can tell Eda still loves them.

We hung out for a little bit after dinner. I checked my phone and it was 9:48pm. I realized I had my first day at Hexside University tomorrow, so I told Eda and King goodnight and went up to my room. I got in my sleeping bag. King stood right outside my door. I looked at him confused. "Can I... Sleep with you?" King asked. I looked at him with awe. "Of course!! Come here buddy," I said while patting next to me. He came up to me right away and curled up. We both fell asleep quickly.
