LUZ POV:

I feel like me and Amity have been distancing away from each other. We don't talk as much anymore, and when we do, it's only around other people.

I want it to be how it used to. We would talk everyday, anytime that we saw each other, and anytime that we could talk to each other.

It's different now. We only talk when other people are around. If we do talk alone, it's not a full conversation.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or something, but it all started when me and Cleo started to talk a lot. I feel like Amity goes to Luna instead of me now.

I hope it's not because of Cleo. Amity should know that she can talk to me whenever she wants and about whatever she wants.

If we don't talk for any longer, it might get awkward and we won't even be friends anymore.

"Luz," the teacher calls out, in a loud voice. "Huh, yeah," I say, confused. "What's the answer to 2C," the teacher asks, staring me directly in the eye. "Uh, 7," I say, hesitantly.

"Wrong," the teacher says, well, she's practically yelling. I hear people giggling all around me. "Next time don't daydream in my class." I nod my head and start paying attention.

WILLOW POV:

"Okay, Gus, we need a plan," I whisper. "What kind of plan? We don't know what's going on between them," Gus complains while eating his food.

"We can ask Amity or Luna, they seem to know the most. Or at least be less oblivious than Luz and Cleo," I say, turning my heads towards Gus.

He just nods in agreement.

Right now, Luz is sitting with Cleo and her friends, and Amity is sitting with Luna and her friends. Amity and Luz seem very quiet at their tables.

"There is obviously something going on between Luz and Amity," I begin, "they've been talking way less, and I don't know if you've noticed it Gus, but I definitely have."

Gus, once again, nods at what I'm saying. "Are you even listening," I ask him, in an annoyed tone. "I am, but it just doesn't seem like our business."

"We are their friends, and if neither one of them will say anything to each other about the obvious, then one of us has to. We can't wait forever," I claim.

"Fine, I'll help with whatever plan you have going inside of your head," Gus says, finally agreeing and actually listening.

WILLOW POV:

"Okay, we are going to ask Luna about anything we can think of between Amity, Luz, Cleo, and maybe even herself," I say to Gus.

"Then, we'll go to Amity's dorm and ask her," I continue, "should we ask Luz?"

"I don't know, she's very oblivious towards Amity and how Amity feels about her, but maybe that's only romantically," Gus says, "so I think we should try."

I nod my head at Gus and we knock on Luna and Cleo's dorm door.

Unfortunately, Cleo is the one to open the door. "Hi, is Luna here," I question. "She's at Amity and Luz's dorm, so no," Cleo says, with almost no expression at all.

"Okay, thank you," I say to Cleo, making eye contact with her. She closes the door.

"Umm I don't know if that was just me, but I felt some sort of tension between you guys, and not a good one," Gus states. "No, I felt it too," I say, almost mumbling it.

Me and Gus make our way over to Amity and Luz's dorm. We knock gently. I hear some footsteps, and then someone opens the door.

In front of me, I see Luz. "Oh, hi willow," Luz says, she doesn't seem as happy as usual. She opens the door more so I can come in.

Me and Gus walk in, "hi, are you okay," I question in a concerned tone. "Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"

"You don't seem as happy or enthusiastic as usual," I state.

LUZ POV:

I clear my throat. This conversation was not what I expected. Willow and Gus are gonna be the first people I open up to about how I've been feeling.

"I haven't been the best," I begin, "me and Amity have been distancing away from each other and not talking as much. I can't figure out why though."

I lied about one thing already. I had an idea of why we were not talking to each other as much. I just don't wanna jump to conclusions.

Willow nods, "do you remember when it started?" Oh. I didn't think I was gonna have to answer this. "Um, when me and Cleo.. became closer, I think."

Willow makes an 'o' shape with her mouth like she was kinda surprised. However, Gus doesn't seem very phased by this.

"Maybe you should talk to Amity about it," Gus suggests, "I think that would be best."

I think about it. If I told Amity how I feel, what if she says something like, she didn't wanna be my friend and it had nothing to do with Cleo? Or what if she thinks im being over dramatic about this whole thing?

What if she acts completely clueless? There are a million things that could go wrong, and I don't wanna think about them.

However, asking Amity is the closest I could get to figuring out why she doesn't talk to me as much. Asking anyone else or doing nothing wouldn't help at all.

"I guess I'll ask," I state, "but I'm not ready yet." Willow and Gus both nod their heads. "We're gonna go now, we just noticed that you and Amity haven't been talking, so we came to check up on you," Willow says, she and Gus wave bye to me and I wave back, then they leave.
