Charles did manage to keep up with you all the way back to the hotel. He seemed to like your music, which surprised you because not everyone does. He walked you all the way back to your hotel room.

Charles: I'll see you tomorrow?

Yn: If I can manage to get out of the McLaren garage for a little while, you will.

He gives you a puzzled look.

Charles: You can get out of the garage to watch the podium ceremony, right?

Yn: Ohh Mr. Leclerc thinks he's going to get a podium tomorrow?

Charles: Mr. Leclerc knows he's going to win tomorrow.

Damn, that was some confidence.

Yn: In that case I'll see you at the podium tomorrow, Charles.

Charles: You will, good night.

Yn: Good night.

You close the door behind you. Things were finally getting a little bit better. You and Max were back to being just friends. You've made a new friend, Charles, which is also great. And you and Lando are finally in a better, less toxic, place. The only thing that's still bothering you is your parents, and how much you miss them.

After a long bath later that evening you can't get your mind off your parents' voicemail. You want to stop thinking about them so you open your phone. You're scrolling through Instagram when a photo pops up. It's a photo from you and Charles bumping into each other earlier that morning, just after your run. Of course they snapped the photo just when Charles catched you to prevent you from falling.

"Charles Leclerc and his new girlfriend in the paddock this morning."

Really? They just assumed you were his new girlfriend. These complicated situations really seemed to find you since you started working in the world of formula one. Apparently, the fans found your instagram account because it was blowing up. Great, now everyone thought you were the girlfriend of Charles Leclerc. You were just thinking about what to do about this situation when there's a knock on the door.

Lando: I swear to god open the door now or I'll find another way to get in.

Your heart drops, why was Lando talking like this? You rush to the door and open it. In the door stood a furious Lando, holding up the picture of you and Charles.

Lando: Are you serious? You are dating Charles while you've been sleeping with me?

You start to panic, tears falling from your eyes.

Yn: What, no, of course not Lan.

Lando: Stop lying to me, you always lie to me!

Yn: I am not lying, please, stop being like this.

Lando: Oh yeah right, of course you're not lying.

Yn: I swear to you I am not lying Lan.

Lando: Don't you dare call me Lan.

Yn: Please, stop being like this. I swear I just bumped into Charles this morning, nothing else.

Lando: Yeah right so it's just a coincidence that you'd already left for the track this morning. You were just going early to meet up with your new boyfriend.

Yn: I didn't, Lando please. I just went for a run, bumped into Charles, and that was that. Nothing else.

Lando: Keep your excuses to yourself, I do not need to hear them.

You felt a stab of pain in your chest. Why was he talking to you like this? He had no right. Your sadness is forming into anger.

Yn: I am done trying to explain this to you. If you don't want to believe me, that's on you, not me. I know I'm telling the truth but I can't force you to believe me, even though you should.

Lando: I am done with this and I am done with you.

You can't breathe. This wasn't really happening, was it?

Tears are streaming down your face, not knowing what to say anymore.

Yn: Leave then, and don't you dare come back to me when you find out I was telling the truth all along.

Lando: I'll leave because your lying face makes me sick.

Yn: Fuck you.

You take off the necklace Lando gave you and throw it down the hallway. Lando looks at the necklace and then looks at you again. His eyes wide, trying to comprehend what you just did.

Yn: I hate you, and I do not deserve to be treated like this.

You smash the door in his face, not being able to look at him for just a second longer. Through the door you hear Lando swearing, and then he's gone. You feel terrible, why was he acting like this? You didn't need this extra pain, dealing with your parents was already hard enough. You opened the door, to see if he was really gone. He was.
