The next morning i woke up with Aryia not home.

I walk downstairs into the kitchen and see a note on the counter.

I read the note (from aryia) and it explained that he was with Kevin helping him remodel some rooms for a video, that he would be gone.

Then for the next few moments it was silent right until i exited the kitchen to go to the bathroom, my eyes grazed over the calendar and i stopped in shock.

I had an appointment, that i forgot about.

I quickly called Aryia, i didnt want to go alone. He didnt pick up.

I tried Katie, she answered but was busy with her brother. I would call Jake (band member) and ask him but i wouldn't feel comfortable going to a baby doctor appointment with him.

I tried calling my sister..she already had plans.

I couldnt ask Colby because hes with Katie, just like Kevin was with Aryia.

You know feeling you get when your thinking of someone or reminded of them and then they text you out of the blue? Yea thats what happened.

Now why was i thinking of him? Simple, he was the only one that i hadnt contacted yet. Also because he texted and asked me what i was up to.

So i called him.

"Hey, Seth."

So here we are walking into the doctors office. Seth sits down at the first available seat and i head to check in.

"Hello there i have an appointment at 1 with  Dr. Shulman."

"Ah yes, i see your name right here. Just sign in on the sheet. I assume youve gotten the call today abkut our new protocol for the mothers and babies safety?" The lady asked me.

"Im afraid i dont know what you mean. Whats this new protocol?" I asked as i handed her the sign in sheet.

"All expectant mothers along with the fathers of the baby must get tested."

"Like for sicknesses?" I asked.

"No dear. This is just something we need to have on file for the expectant mother and the baby. It has to do with ensuring that only the mother and father of the child are in attendance to the appointments. Its just what my bosses boss told us to do."

"But what if the father cant make it and the mother doesnt want to go alone."

"Im sorry dear its just our policy. I have to enforce it. Now if you would please collect the man you came with and follow me i will direct you to an available room." She told me in reference to Seth.

"Oh but hes not-"

"Maam, please."

I huffed. Seths not the father of this child. This crab lady told me only the mother and the father.

I reached Seth. "Come on."

"What? Youre still early.." Seth said standing.

"I will explain in the room." I said frowing and directing him to the crabapple.

She showed us the room and instructed us to wait while she grabbed and prepped the necessary items.

"Whats this all about?" Seth asked sitting in the chair.

"Apparently this place has a new policy for ensuring safety on the expectant mothers and child..." i answered.

"Which is?"

"Only the mother and father are allowed in the back for the appointments."

"But im not the father." Seth furrowed his eyebrows.

"I know. But unfortunately they still have to test."

"What so they are just going to run some DNA test on us and kick me out for being just a friend coming to support you? Because i can let myself out."

"Well first off thanks for suplorting me but still...they just need to have it in file for patients safety.."

The lady returned with the cart with all of the prepped items gently placed on top.

"Alright, ladies first." She says coming over to me and extracting what she needed. "See no pain." She smiled to me.

"Next, the gentleman." She says coming over to Seth.

"For the record, i can see myself out. I already know im not the father." Seth frowned as the lady continues the extraction.

"Well the office doesnt know that dear. We need that information on file." She said mocking Seth and then leaving with the cart.

It had been 15 minutes later and she still hadnt returned.

I looked at my phone. "Come on the appointment was 5 minutes ago. I cant even have it until this test comes back my frigging gosh!" I frowned.

"Calm down. At least we already know the results." Seth says as theres a knock at the door. "Here she comes..play nice."

"Ive got your results." The crabapple stated walking in.

"I guess that means i will be waiting in the car until her appointment is over with." Seth says getting up and attempting to walk out until the nurse stopped him.

"Now Mr. Borden...why would you want to miss this wonderful opportunity to see how your child is developing in your girlfriends body?" She stated clipboard in hand.

"Ive told you. Its not my child. I will see myself o- wait. Im sorry what?"

"Maam you must be mistaken. This is my ex boyfriend. I have a new boyfriend that is the father of the child in my stomach."

"Well i hate to tell you dear but it seems like your ex boyfriend here is the father of the child youre expecting. Congratulations, ill go get your doctor." She says exiting the room.
