The next day was a chill day for us.
We didn't have anything on our schedule so we decide just to lay around the house.
"I want a dog." I sighed as a lay on the couch.
"A dog?" Aryia asked coming back in the living room from the kitchen. "Why's that?"
"I just want one." I frowned.
"You really want a dog AND a baby? Like at the same time?" Aryia asked.
I nodded. "I mean, we have family and friends who are more than willing to help us of ever needed. Even Tara has said that if you and I ever need a little get away, her and Jake would love to watch the baby."
"I guess that's a fair point." Aryia shrugged and began typing on his phone.
"What are you looking up?" I asked sitting up and facing him.
"Shelters in the area." Aryia said still typing. "Great! I found one just by the Walmart!" He says getting up and putting on his shoes.
"Can I come?" I asked.
Aryia comes over to me and helps out my shoes on. "Well of course you can Mrs. Emrani. This is going to be the Emrani family dog after all!" He smiled and helps me up.
~at the shelter~
"We have a wonderful selection of puppies, older dogs, and even cats. But you are here for a dog correct?" The shelter lady asked.
"Yes ma'am, my fiancé and I here want to adopt a dog that's kid friendly as we are expecting a child soon."
"Ah well a congratulations is in order, for both the baby and engagement! Now, let's go see those kid friendly dogs." She says leading us to a certain section.
"This one right here is called Nosey, and as you can see she is definitely nosey. You will for sure notice she's there." The lady said showing us a small dark brown chihuahua.
"Do you have any bigger dogs?" Aryia asked.
"Yeah we were kinda searching for a bigger dog just in case we leave it alone, it will defend the home." I suggested.
"I believe we have, two that are bigger but also kid friendly, I know how much that is important." She said smiling to us and leading us to a kennel further down.
"This here...is Ronny. He was dropped off here as a puppy which makes him a little over 2 years old." She smiles opening the door and allowing us to walk in with him.
When I first stepped into that cage, I knew this dog had stolen my heart. This poor baby was just cowering in the back corner of his kennel. I could sense the fear and hurt.
"Don't worry little guy, we're friendly." I assured him reaching out my hand for him to sniff.
The little guy was reluctant at first but eventually gave. Immediately after sniffing he licked my hand and his tail wagged and wagged.
"Aryia, I want this one." I looked at him with pleading eyes.
"Babe, I was thinking the same exact thing." He says and then turns to the lady helping us. "We'll take Ronny." Aryia told her.
"Great! Just grab that bowl and blanket next to you hun, he was brought here with those. Alright, now let's get that paper work."
