chapter fourty one- flashback

peters/pov

me and cole had to walk home in the rain it was absolutely freezing outside we always knew the mornings were quite cold and I didn't know if I would be able to make it home cole quickly gave me his coat to try warm up my body temperature he tried comforting me by saying quietly

'hang on peter we're almost there'

a few minutes later we reached the front door the outdoor light wasn't on but thankfully we made it cole luckily had the house keys on him so we entered in slowly the whole house was completely dark and silent I was guessing aunt may wasn't awake cole quickly settled me down on the couch to rest as he switched on one of the living room lamps he said in his deep voice

'I'm going to grab you some bandages and some medical supplies I'll be back in a sec'

cole took his shoes off before racing upstairs without making a sound whilst I was still downstairs in the dark in a lot of pain I thought to myself the pain would never go physically and mentally it would stay there for the rest of my life and I would still think back to it knowing what happened in the past but I just had to move on from it suddenly I heard a pair of feet move slowly down the stairs like it was some kind of horror movie I was hoping it would be cole with the bandages and other medical supplies but to my horror it wasn't it was aunt may I was guessing she was coming downstairs to grab a drink of water or maybe even to check if we came back after not saying where we were going she mumbled tiredly whilst grabbing a glass cup from the kitchen and filling it up with some water

'hello cole peter are you there where the hell were you I was waiting for you guys to come back I thought you weren't going to come back anyways have you made it back alright'

she was going to have to know who I was I was clearly injured and there was nothing else I could do to hide this secret from her so I just had to accept the fact and do it I murmured weakly

'yeah we made it back alright aunt may I'm sorry we didn't tell you we should've told you'

I was going to get up and hug her but I couldn't the only thing I did was wince in pain aunt may entered the dark living room and asked

'are you sure you're alright it doesn't sound like you are to me let me check'

she turned the living room lights on seeing me in the spiderman suit that was ripped up and covered in blood from my wounds and obviously me who was sitting on the couch I could see the expression in her face she was traumatised she gasped loudly before rushing up to me and sobbing

'oh my god no it can't be'

I could see the heartbroken shocked tears in a her glossy eyes as I explained seriously

'aunt may I'm so sorry I didn't tell you before please don't get mad at me I have to do this after uncle ben died I didn't want the same thing happening to you or anyone please forgive me'

I could here cole coming back down the stairs now with the bandages and medical supplies when he saw aunt may his jaw dropped the whole house was then completely silent I was waiting for aunt may to say something but I was thinking she was too afraid to say anything to me after what happened finally she replied

'I I don't know what to say but you were the one who defeated all those dangerous criminals the green goblin and venom that was really brave of you I always thought that those injuries were from you skateboarding or I just thought you were really clumsy but you should've told me what was really going on I would've been able to keep it a secret'

cole came in to clean and bandage up the wounds whilst aunt may went into the kitchen and made both of us some coffee we continued to sit in the living room and talk for a bit aunt may then asked me

'so peter how did you get your powers in the first place'

I knew this was going to be a long story to tell her but she wanted to know so I began explaining to her

'well you know that day where I went on that field trip to the museum and I said I was unwell when I came back home well I was bitten by a radioactive spider that was at the museum I then woke up the next day and I found out I had powers so yeah then after uncle ben died I decided to use them so I made a suit and mask and boom'

aunt may hugged me softly before mumbling

'you should've told me but what are we going to do with your injuries because I don't know if we'll be able to treat them here don't worry I'll make up an excuse just so you can hide your identity'

I stood up before saying

'yeah I agree make up an excuse I should definitely go to hospital these injuries look bad and they could get infected otherwise I really don't want that happening'
