chapter fourty three- will you marry me

*a few years later

a few years had passed and lots had happened since cole proposed to delilah me and Peter decided once we'd finished with college we were going to explore the world together before starting our jobs and going to coles and delilah's wedding next year we went to LA malta france south korea hawaii the UK and loads of other places we really enjoyed spending time together exploring loads different countries I even thought to myself maybe there'd be a possibility where I'd be able to live my happily ever after maybe that day would be today I was in san francisco it was just me and peter it was late afternoon and we were stuck in the hotel room after it had been raining all morning I asked peter

'hey peter I'm really bored I wish we could be doing something right now but what are we going to do'

peter smiled at me before explaining

'maybe we should head out to hills now where the golden gate bridge is that would be fun and because it's getting dark we'll be able to see the lights'

my eyes lit up as I kissed him excitedly on the cheek I exclaimed

'that's a good idea let's head out now I cannot wait to see the lights'

peters/pov

after a few minutes of endless walking we were almost there my heart was pounding I had been waiting for this moment since forever I was finally going to propose to ash I quickly checked my phone to see if the plan was ready and thankfully it was everything was completely perfect I had the ring box hidden tightly in my front pocket I was praying to myself ash wouldn't notice it I didn't want to ruin the moment finally the moment was about to begin we made it to the top ash stared off into the distance whilst mumbling

'isn't this view beautiful babe I wish I could stand here forever'

I gave a reassuring nod to let her know I was listening all of a sudden the lights began to flash mesmerisingly my insides were shaking as the lights kept flashing I needed to wait until the words will you marry me would come up then the rest would be history as the light display continued I sneakily got the ring box out of my pocket I held it tightly in my hand ash didn't notice a thing she was still sucked in watching the lights after a few seconds the words came up and I remained silent

I glanced up at the words that were glittering in the night sky my heart stopped did peter arrange all this suddenly I looked over at him with tears in my eyes he was down on one knee a beautiful ring was in front of me I managed to utter out the words trying not to cry

'yes'

the ring was placed delicately on my finger and I gripped him tightly into a hug all my feelings were let out at the stage I could feel myself getting butterflies in my stomach as I pulled away peter whispered to me

'thank you so much for being there I don't know what I would've done without you I hope will be able to continue these wonderful memories and live our lives the way we want to live them'

after a few minutes of hanging out watching the breathtaking view we decided to head back to the hotel because it starting to get late and a bit chilly peter held my hand softly and said to me

'you're going to look absolutely beautiful the wedding do you know that'

I replied

'I know I am I've got you in my life and that's the only thing that matters to me'

we headed back into the hotel still planning and talking about the wedding we took the elevator up to the fifth floor once we made it we entered our room closing the door behind us I was completely exhausted so I immediately fell gently onto the bed peter was still standing up he opened the bathroom door before saying

'I'm just going to have a quick shower then I'll be there'

he quickly came over to kiss my forehead before entering the bathroom and closing the door behind him a few minutes later he came out the shower his hair was still damp he came over and snuggled onto the bed with me he mumbled in a soft voice

'are you ok baby you seem tired'

I yawned quietly before saying

'yeah all that walking has tired me out I also cannot wait to head home tomorrow it feels like a lifetime since we saw the others I really miss them and I hope will be able to tell them that we're getting married soon'

peter smiled at me before responding

'yeah me too'

we continue to talk a little bit more as my eyes were continuing to get heavier and heavier I felt like I couldn't stay awake any longer I could drop off at any second but before I shut my eyes I whispered to peter

'hey I'm going to sleep now see you tomorrow I love you'

peter carefully put the blankets over me as I began shutting my eyes he kissed my forehead gently as I drifted off to sleep
