Chapter thirteen

The eleventh week had arrived, and with it came the most anticipated moment for some mums and dads. The first words began to come frequently.
On the second night of the eleventh week, Nikolas Sebastian Lupin, uttered his first confident words. "Mama atah!", which translated meant "Mama, water!". Selene was bathing Niko when this happened.
When the little one spoke so clearly for the first time, Selene was first shocked, even though she knew that magical children developed a little faster than other children. Seconds after she recovered, the girl praised and continued her conversation with the baby excitedly to encourage him to speak more. Leaving the bathroom, the slytherin called Remus over to tell him about the event and try to get Niko to talk some more.
But, Niko would just laugh at them, some days later he would say "Shit!" over and over all day long. Thanks to Sirius.
Things were going great, Selene was even planning with Lily a party for Niko, Harry and Rose, so they could have one more good memory of their babies before they would vanish from their lives.
Selene didn't like thinking about it, it made her really sad to think about not having her little moon with her any more.
So she put herself into doing preparations for the party next week.

Remus noticed how everyone that were more attached to their babies were getting more and more sad by the day. He sure was going to miss Niko, actually he would miss Harry and Rose too, they were such charismatic little babies.
While Remus looked at Niko, who now had four teeth and got so big and were almost walking, he thought how crazy it is to be seeing and living this experience.
Almost a year of a child in 12 weeks, that sure was crazy, but a good kind of crazy. At least for him, it was.
Selene and him were really lucky with Nikolas, he was a really calm and happy baby. Not even when he started teething, he got fussy or very sick.

" He took after me. I wasn't a very fussy baby, too." Selene said when they noted his little bottom tooth starting to grow some weeks ago.

And speaking of Selene, Remus fund himself every day a little more in love with the girl. Their relationship was getting better and better each passing day. This made Remus decide to tell her about his lycanthropy. He will tell her after the project finishes.
Remus didn't want to deal with telling her and the possible bad reaction while still having Niko around. Actually, he would postpone even more, this if Selene really end up way more emotional than he expected her to be because she really liked the little boy. They really got attached to the little guy who brought them together.
At least he would tell her sooner than he thought. Because if he could, he would never really tell her about this ugly part of him. But Selene deserves better than this, so he will tell everything and from there they will decide what they will do.
