It had been a few weeks now. The winter fete was tomorrow. Inej, Nina and I went to get our costumes. "I had some alterations made for you." Nina says as we walk into the shop. When our dresses came I saw that mine now looked a lot like an armour. With embroidery of gold and light green. Long sleeves and high collar. I gasped as I looked at it in awe.

"It's beautiful Nina. Thank you." I said. Inej had got her acrobat costume in yellow and Nina had a high collar red dress with jacket lapels and gold linings on the dress. "Looks fit for someone of high ranking in the Wandering Isles lady general." I said with a smirk. "Well, of course. Being a general and lady is killing people with the correct look of course." Nina smirked and Inej smiled as we all chuckled.

I sat in the carriage with Wyaln fidgeting with his shirt. "Wylan if you tug it anymore it will come undone." Kaz scolded. "It's just. I haven't worn anything this nice." Wylan said sheepishly. "Don't worry neither have in many years." I said with a reassuring smile. He smiled.
We were about to step out of the carriage when Nina and I both put on our rings. "It works." Wylan confirmed. He and kaz walked out. Kaz gave me a hand down. "Remember, use combat if only necessary. We will kidnap Alina and you and Wylan ensure no one misses us." Kaz said. "Got it." I said. I gave Wylan my hand and he took it.
We entered the party. "This is the palace? ""No, this is the little palace. This is where all the grisha train and live. Where the Darkling lives." I say. Wylan turned around a little worried. "Don't worry we should be far away from him." I said. "We are supposed to greet the king and queen in a few moments." "Just curtsy like I taught you and everything will be okay. No one is going to talk to us. If I realise that you are in any way in danger. Run back to the carriage Jesper will be waiting there. Inej would have finished entertaining the guests and she will come in dressed as a guard. I will cause a distraction here in the fete." I say. "What will that be?" Wylan asks. We walk forward and cursty in front of the king and queen and get ready to move quickly when, "That is marvelous dress." The queen says. "It was a gift." I say politely. "Where are you from?" Vasily asks as he looks me up and down. "Wandering Isles." I say. "I have never heard of a princess Olivia." The king said. Wylan looks at me worried. "Well, we are a small country but I knew your son from Princess Gaia. We were friends." "She loved travelling." The Queen said looking at me with soft and sorrow filled eyes. "Yes, she did. My brother and I are sorry for your loss." I say with another cursty and Wylan follows me. "Enjoy the party." Vasily says. I nod my head and walk off. "If things go sideways, I'll reveal my identity." I said. "What?" Wylan exclaims causing a few people to look at us. I gave them a small smile and looked at Wylan again. "Does Kaz know?" he asks. "Yes. He was the first and the only person who knows this and now so do you. So, calm down because it won't come to that." I say.
