Ominis' Perceptive
It had been three weeks since the start of the school year. It was such a dramatic first week that the rest of the days had begun to fly by. It was nice to have quidditch games to attend again. In previous years I had always enjoyed attending every single house match and cheering on Anne and Sebastian as the announcer would share the play-by-play loudly for everyone to hear. Even if I couldn't see them playing, I always knew what was happening and could cheer on everyone else.
Sebastian was promoted to Seeker. Imelda insisted that she wouldn't play the position and that he had been the only player on the team that she trusted to fill the role. Although we all knew it would have been Anne if she was here.
It was towards the end of the match on a chilling Friday night; Ravenclaw versus Slytherin. Slytherin was behind, but Sebastian was close to snitch. Ravenclaw had been brutal this season but lacked a good seeker.
"GO SEBASTIAN!" Adelaide screamed sitting on the Slytherin bench right to me.
At first, I was filled with anger that Sebastian hadn't confessed the events of their surprise date to me and that I had to find out from Poppy. But, once I had calmed down and Sebastian explained how overwhelmed he became that day, I decided to forgive him for now.
Truthfully, I didn't think he would continue seeing Adelaide, but shortly afterward kept accepting her request to see him more. Adelaide clearly had the intention of a relationship and Sebastian simply had no idea what he was doing.
Their relationship mainly consisted of Sebastian walking her to her classes, sitting at the Hufflepuff table during meals, and the occasional outing. Amelia was correct in her judgment that it seemed like Sebastian was attempting to protect her. He had begun following her around like a puppy seeking out affection.
It reminded me of how he would act around Amelia after each class during our fifth year or how he would make sure that Anne or I weren't alone during meals in our early years. It was his protective nature of those he loved that he had begun to project onto Adelaide.
Unfortunately for Amelia, she didn't account for Adelaide developing a crush on Sebastian, she admitted as much to me already when she had confessed her plan. Her intention was to simply try and get Sebastian back to feeling himself by giving him a purpose that he felt was gone.
Adelaide was extremely kind and I didn't mind her company on the bench. She had brought snacks for us to share while cheering on Slytherin and was very chatty, in a good way. The more I got to know her, the more frustrated I grew knowing that Sebastian would likely end up breaking her heart.
"Sebastian catches the snitch! Slytherin makes a comeback and wins!" The Slytherin announcer cheered for the end of the match.
"Give Sebastian my congratulations Adelaide," I said sitting up to make my departure, "I'm sure I'll see you both later."
"You don't want to come to celebrate with us?" Adelaide asked kindly.
"I'd like to, but I'm behind on some schoolwork. I'll see you soon!" I lied departing. I enjoyed both of their company, but spending time with them together, made me feel uncomfortable.

It was early the next morning when I found Amelia sitting on top of a moss-covered rock by the lake. It was Saturday so barely anyone else was awake this early on a day off.
It had become a tradition to find her here or in the library in the early morning when no one was around. I silently walked over to the shoreline in front of her, putting my wand away, and began feeling for a smooth rock to skip across the water. I could feel the warmth of the early morning sun rising.
