What A Catch, Donnie by Fall Out Boy

Amelia's Perceptive
Despite the hours of sleep and the painkiller potions that I was sent home with, there was a haze that hung over my head. There was nowhere I wanted to avoid more than a noisy ball with the stares of all of my classmates taking turns looking at the fresh scar on my neck.
I rather deal with the gossip from them seeing the hickey that had been there before it was slashed open.
"Do you want some help getting ready?" Samantha Dale offered as she stood in the doorway to our shared dorm room.
Her black hair curled perfectly around softly blushed cheeks and her silvery purple gown fit her perfectly. She didn't wait for me to answer as she pulled an extra stool over the mirror I sat in front of.
"Do you know how to cover such an ugly scar?" I asked with a cruel laugh, running my fingers over my neck once more.
The slash was a deep purple and red hue from being burned shut. The skin was crisp and hard making it difficult and sensitive to cover with makeup. It was truly a hideous sight for the moment. However, I was thankful for just a scar and not death. If Sebastian hadn't been there to burn it closed, I would have died from my own foolishness.
"Sadly not," Samantha answered with a sigh. Her honesty was always something I admired, "But the good news is that your dress is so lovely that everyone is going to be busy looking elsewhere." She teased.
I didn't have many dresses, but when I first heard of the ball, the feminine side of me was excited about finding a good dress. I decided on a silky black dress with pearl clips for my hair. It was intended to cover down to my ankles to hide the bruises and long matching black gloves to cover the scars and bite marks that ran up my arms.
But I hadn't planned on needing to cover my neck at the time. Now it felt like brought more attention to fresh scar.
"You don't need to stay with me, you'll be late," I told Samantha, suddenly realizing that the rest of the Ravenclaw common room had gone silent.
Samantha began reaching for my makeup and pressing more blush onto my cheeks for me. I had been struggling to move my arm up high from the pain that the cut had caused. She smiled happily, "It's okay. Everett and Amit said they didn't mind skipping the grand entrance, I already spoke with them. I think they began drinking without us though." She said reaching under her bed and pulling a hidden wine bottle out, "You and I will need to catch up!"
I couldn't help but laugh as she popped the cork and poured two glasses.
The wine was sweeter than I expected, with a nice cherry flavor that would be overpowering normally. I downed the first glass hoping to get the nerves out faster. Samantha didn't question it and poured another into my cup.
I went back to struggling with my makeup as Samantha helped straighten my hair and placed the pearl clips gently into the nest of black hair. She cleared her throat before breaking the silence, "So, I've been dying to ask you, who's Slytherin scarf were you hiding under your bed for weeks?"
My face flushed red, defeating the purpose of the blush, "You knew?"
"You didn't hide it very well." Samantha teased, eyeing me through the mirror.
