It's been two days since Shawn's accident. He recovered quite well and was at home but I couldn't make much time to go and see him. We surely talked and texted but with the wedding coming up, I had to wrap up my office work before I took a leave for holiday.

I couldn't even give Aithan and Maia much time. I just went to check on them. We barely spent fifteen minutes together but I did check on them.

I was in my bed when my gaze went to the taj mahal. Aithan's first gift to me. I didn't know what connection I had with him that he and everything related to him gave me goosebumps.

I decided to call him. After two rings, he picked up.

"Hey, Little red, how come you are  remembering me?" He asked, not giving me a chance to speak.

My lips immediately formed a wide curve as I heard his voice even if it's been only one day since we met. I was glad that he picked up my call.

"I just called to check on you, how are you doing?" I asked as I adjusted myself in the bed.

"Fine, what about you?" He asked and we exchanged a few words. I asked him about Maia when suddenly his request baffled me.

"Little Red, would you mind if I ask you something?" He sounded a little hesitant.

"Of course not, go ahead." I encouraged him.

"Would you mind if we go for a stroll at the beach?" He asked and silence greeted me after that.

He was waiting for my response. I was too shocked to reply because it was the first time that he asked me to go out. He usually prefers to stay indoors. I clutched my phone tightly as I smiled. Finally, he was recovering.

"Hey, are you there?" He asked.

"I'm sorry if I asked too much, I just-" He tried to apologize.

"Aithan, get ready, I'm coming to pick you up in like, thirty minutes," I said as I got off the bed hurriedly.

"Thank you." He said.

"Mention not, stupid." I laughed as I hung down.

I advanced in front of the mirror and admired my reflection. My face gleamed with happiness. Something that I haven't seen in a while. I took my brush and started combing my hair and a few seconds later, I threw the comb on the bed and went to open my cupboard.

"What should I wear?" I asked happily.

After dozens of rejections, I self-approved faded jeans and a pink shirt.

I was about to enter the bathroom when suddenly my phone rang.

I advanced towards my bed, a little scared, praying that Aithan hadn't changed his mind and to my relief, it wasn't Aithan but Shawn. It was a relief but at the same time, a huge disappointment and guilt arose.

"Hello there, what are you doing?" He asked and I rolled my eyes over his question.

"I'm getting ready, I'm going out," I said casually.

"Are you coming to see me?" He asked, sounding a little excited.

"I'm sorry Shawn but no, I'm going out for some work purposes." I lied.

I swore I could win a golden jubilee with all these lies I had been speaking.

"Baby, since I got home from the hospital, I haven't seen you except on video calls which are usually a few minutes," Shawn complained.

"I know but try to understand Shawn, our wedding is coming up and you don't want to postpone it even if you are injured so I have to get all the work done alone, there is only one week left, that is seven days." I tried to convince him.
