After some time, the car halted in front of a house, which is surprisingly a few blocks from my house. I was surprised because this house was abandoned years ago. I wondered why we stopped here, but by the look of it, it seemed like it was newly renovated.

"Why did we stop here, the woods are on the other side, right?" I asked and all I got were grins from the boys.

Aithan looked so cute when he laughed, his nose kind of did that scrunch thing.

"Amelia, you dumb lady, you are married now and you still want to live in a cabin in the woods?" Eric laughed.

"But-" I tried to object but Aithan cut me off as he kissed me lightly on the lips before he got out of the car.

He got down and offered me his hand which I gladly accepted and then helped me adjusted my dress down so I could walk.

"Mi amor, will you be able to walk to the house?" He asked, concern filling his eyes.

I nodded. I wanted to walk beside him, hand in hand, even though I was feeling weak. It would be  the first time I was going to his house. In our house, I wanted to walk with him. Proudly.

"Alright guys I will take your leave now, will you be able to manage?" Eric asked and we nodded.

After exchanging a few words and a handshake with Aithan, he was gone. Soon after we were alone.

"This is my house which I purchased long ago and Grace and I were planning to move here. Grace didn't like the neighborhood but now I'm glad she didn't."

"Are you ready to step into our new home?" He whispered as he held my hand firmly.

"Yes," I whispered back as we both took a step forward. His eyes met and locked mine. His eyes were reflecting exactly my feelings but mine held an emotion more which was missing in his, that was fear. Fear of the future.

Butterflies swam freely in my tummy as we walked together, hand in hand, proudly, towards our house. Aithan's and my house. All this seemed like a fairytale. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe that it was happening.

Finally, we reached the door and on the nameplate it stated, Aithan Foxworth
                                Amelia Stones Foxworth

It was written so perfectly.

"It's perfect," I murmured as I touched it. He smiled at my gesture and handed me a bunch of keys and gestured for me to open it.

Hesitantly, I took the keys and opened them. The interior decoration was utterly mesmerizing. It was simple but ravishing compared to Shawn's modern house.

All the furniture was of Victorian style. He had a  great taste. I wasn't  bragging but this house is prettier than Shawn's house. Simple, elegant and classy.

We entered and he made me sit down and went to fetch water. A few minutes later, he came with water and some crackers and not to forget, my medicines. I rolled my eyes as I noticed it.

Was this going to be my life now?
A handful of medicines around the clock?

"What, mom just gave me a pile of medicines a few hours ago, now again?" I pouted and he pinched my cheek jokingly and he placed the glass and the medicines on the table.

He came to sit next to me as he held my hand delicately.

"My dear Amy, you have to take it otherwise I'm going to..." He grinned menacingly.

"What?"

"Tickle you." He started tickling me and I, being ticklish, started to laugh like a mad woman.

"Stop. Stop..." I screamed while laughing.

Finally, he stopped and I rested my head and my head on his lap as he carefully took out my tiara and veil. His eyes met and locked mine as he caressed my face. His eyes were gleaming with happiness and utmost love as he admired me. This was what I was longing for. A soulmate. Someone who loved me maybe much more than I loved him.

"I love you, Amelia, you know it, right? Please don't leave me, I won't be able to take it this time." His eyes were hurling sincerity and fear.

"I love you Aithan, I just hope my destiny doesn't deceive me, don't deceive us. I want to live with you, with Maia, with my family. I don't want to die." I said, my eyes full of fear as a tear dropped as I held his hand.

"Nothing gonna happen to you, love, I'm here with you, your parents are. Our love is your shield and strength. Together, we all will fight for you. We will protect you, from anything, just be courageous." He said and I nodded.

I sat and he looked me in the eyes again. He leaned forward till we were inches apart. His forehead rested on mine while his hands held mine.

"Je t'aime m'amour." He said I love you in French. He learned languages at university and knew Italian, French and Spanish besides English.

"Tell me one thing," I said.

"Humm."

"What if I didn't come to see you that day, what if I got married to Shawn? Why didn't you say anything? I whispered as our foreheads still rested on each other.

"Amy, I realized that I love you the day we went to the beach. I planned to tell you but I didn't want to impose it on you. I didn't know yet that you love me but I did ask you if you are happy with Shawn and you replied positively so I deem it right to back off but trust me, it was hurting real bad." He whispered back as he cupped my face.

"You make me happy differently. Being with you completes me." I whispered back as slowly, my lips found his lips and he kissed me passionately.

His phone rang. He answered and after a brief conversation, he gave me the medicines and a glass of water.

"Take your medicines, Maia along with your parents, Jenny and Rain and Eric are coming for dinner, as you didn't want the reception dinner, I thought a simple dinner won't be a bad idea, with just our close ones, Jenny and Rain will be coming before to help me prepare the dinner. " He said. I was a little sad as he didn't mention Angelina, I knew though that he must have invited her but she refused.

"That's a great idea, right, where is Maia?" I asked. She was there in the church but didn't come with us.

"Don't worry, she is safe with your parents, your father likes her and needless to say, she does too." He smiled.

My heart warmed at his smile. It was a genuine one. You could say he wasn't faking anymore. He was genuinely happy.

"Would you wait for them to help you change or should I..?" He was sounding nervous and a little hesitant. Maybe he wasn't trying to make me feel uncomfortable.

I, on the other hand, was thinking of only two things

All those wires and scars.

How would he react when he sees those?

I was hooked on a device to help my body pump blood. A device. A tear fell involuntarily at the mere thinking of it.

"Hey, what happened?" He said as he saw me. He advanced closer to me on the sofa.

"Aithan, I'm telling you again, I'm not worthy of you anymore I mean, look at me, I'm hooked on a device and I'm scarred,'' I said as I bowed my head down.

" You won't be able to see me if I remove my dress, you will be scared and disgusted with me," I said, still not facing him.

"Love, look at me." He whispered, his voice broken and desperate, and I did.

"You are perfect for me, neverless of any scars, any devices or wires, for me, they are precious because that's what allows you to be with me, they are helping us." He said as he wiped out my tears which were streaming down my cheeks.

"If you are not ready yet, I will wait, I  will wait when you are ready to trust me enough to show me those precious scars that proves you are a strong warrior and the device that keeps you with me." He said as he took me in a hug. I could remain with him like this for an eternity.

If only it could last.
