Chapter one

"Good morning mom ! Good morning dad !" I said as I walked into the kitchen. I smelled food .
"Good morning honey.how did you sleep last night ?" Asked my mom. "Pretty good"I said as I turned and looked at my sister sitting at the kitchen table as she was texting on her phone.
"Hey Marilyn!"I said as I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her from behind.
"huh?..oh hey Kali.."she said as she patted my arm and went back to texting.
I sighed and pulled away from her and went to go sit in the bar stool at the counter.
"I'm so glad its summer." I said as I swung side to side in the chair.
My mom nodded and smiled.
"Ooh! Can I invite Kathryn over please?"I asked smiling.
"Sure, were always happy to have her over." said my mom .
"Oh hey mom I'm going to need to borrow the car today." my sister said .
"Oh come on Marilyn! Can't you hang out with me and Kathryn today?" I pleaded.
"Mm..nope sorry I have to be up at a friends house for a meeting." She said as she stood up and grabbed the car keys from the hook near the door. "When did you start going to meetings?" My mom asked
"now" she said as she smiled and walked out the door.
I let out a sigh and proper my head up with my hands . "She's no fun anymore" I said.
"Well honey you are sixteen and she's eighteen so you have to remember the she's all grown up." I nodded in understanding.
Later that day Kathryn came over and we went in my room to go hang out and do stuff on the web.
Our favorite thing to do was talk to people from different places on the Internet. "Oh look at this guy he looks cute" she said pointing at a profile pic on the laptop screen.
"Yeah I know but he's eighteen and I'm only sixteen." I told her.
"oh come on! Aren't you a jest a little queries ?"she said mischievously grinning.
I bit my lip. Kathryn had never led me wrong so I decided to trust her on this. "Ok! Let's do it " I said smiling as I clicked on the profile.
There was no bio only the profile pic. "Mm..he is cute." Kathryn said bumping  my arm with her elbow .
"Mm.." I hesitated
"Oh come on let's jest at least say hi to see if he's replies She pleaded. "Ok ! Ok!..I'll say hi "I said as I went to the comment box and typed in hey.
We sat there for maybe two seconds and I finally said "welp! To bad! looks like he's not on !! Better luck next time-ok let's go ." I quickly shut the computer ." Kali!"she complained.
jest then my laptop made a ring noise.
I looked at Kathryn. She did a big smile.
"That's him ! Come on see what he says !" She said quickly opening my laptop and set in in front oh me.
I looked to see what he had said ." Hi"
I said again.
" I'm Daren " he said
"I'm Kali and I'm with my friend Kathryn "I replied
"That's nice. How are you ?"he asked
"I'm fine , you ?" I asked
"I'm good . Where are yall from ?" He asked
"Florida" I said
"That's cool. I'm from Ohio."he said
"See he does like you !" Kathryn said shaking my arm.
I laughed in agreement.
We talked to Daren for a long time until it was time for lunch.
"Hey Daren it's time for us to go eat lunch..but I'm sure we'll talk to you later ." I said
"Ok! Talk to you later ! Nice meeting you ."he said.
"Nice to meet you to. Bye!"I finally said.
"Bye."
I closed my laptop and we both headed downstairs. Me and Kathryn sat at the bar and my mom handed us both a hotdog and set ketchup and mustards on the counter.
I squirted mustard on my hot dog and handed it to Kathryn. "I told you that you would like him !" She said as she took a bite of her hotdog. I nodded.
"He is nice " I said .
"Yeah.when are you going to talk to him again?"she asked
"I don't know. " I shrugged
"You need to talk to him tomorrow !"she said excited
"Yeah! I would love to meet this guy personally " I said smiling as I thought of him.
"And maybe someday you will."Kathryn said.
