Chapter 20

That night Darin actually let me go outside for a while but he came with me to keep an eye on me and he let me sleep in the bed again.
I had told him about the blood that got on the bed from my arm and he said that he would just wash the sheets .
I was surprised that he didn't get mad or something.
We were in the living room talking and I was sitting on the couch while Darin sat in a recliner across from me . And there was another surprise that Darin had up his sleeve that i didn't know about other than drugs.
A cat! His name was yogo and he was one of those Long haired fluffy cats .
He popped out from under the couch a while after I had been sitting there.
It scared me so bad. I thought I had been sitting ON him that whole time.
But Darin said that he just likes to sleep under There cuz it was dark.
Yogo rubbed against my legs and sat in my lap and purred.
later that night Darin had made decaf coffee and he let me have some.
"Hey I need new clothes before long ." I said as i walked into my room.
He followed me in so he could look at the blood on the sheets.
"You know I could just wash them right?" He chuckled as he threw the sheets back .
He looked at the blood spot for a second and then he stripped the bed down and I helped him put clean sheets on.
"I'm gunna be gone again Tomorrow morning . You can just put your clothes in the washer while you take a shower or something and get them out when there done." He said.
I nodded.
"Why Are you always gone?" I asked knowing that he wasn't going to answer.
He opened his mouth As if he were going to say something but nothing came out.
"I'm a busy guy." He shrugged.
I looked at him in disbelief.
"What?!" He chuckled.
I rolled my eyes.
"Ssuureee." I said.
I sat down on the edge of the bed and Darin leaned his back against the wall in front of me and crossed his arms .
I looked at him.
"I really am though." He said.
"Ok! I never said that I didn't believe you !" I said innocently grinning.
"Pff. Yep. You just think I'm a guy who owns a cat and kidnaps people and does dru-" he stopped himself quickly .
I looked at him in the eye.
" I-i already..know..i was looking for more bandages and I accidentally found them. I was afraid to tell you." I said shyly.
He ran his fingers through his hair and let out an long breath.
"Well..that's one more thing you know about me." He said following it up with an laugh as he rubbed his neck with his hand and looked away.
"And I know what you used them for-."
I said looking at him.
He looked at me.
" oh I'm guessing yogo told you. Gosh darn that stupid cat! Can't keep a secret." He said sarcastically as he smiled at me .
I laughed.
"Yeah..and..I'm sorry." He said.
"What?-" I was surprised at what he said.
"I'm..sorry..for everything and what I put you though..." He said.
I looked at him. "don't worry about it."
"Well I wish you had told me that earlier ! That would have been helpful!" He said chucking as he slightly smiled.
Is he saying that he cares about me ?
