Chapter 4

I woke up on the couch with a blanket laying on top of me. I looked around and noticed that it was dark.
I slowly sat up and stretched and walked into the kitchen.
The Lights weren't on so I turned the porch light on and went over to the fridge and opened it to see what was in there .I felt like I could have drank a whole gallon of water . As I grabbed a water out of the fridge i turned back around to head up to my room. Then I saw somebody sitting at the table. I tried to get a better look at who it was . Then I noticed that It was Marilyn.
"Oh it's jest you "I said quietly.
"yep."she said
She had her foot propped up in the chair across from her and she had a glass of water on the table with her hand on it .
I walked over and sat in the chair across from her .
"Hey, why are you up?" I asked .
She shrugged.
"Couldn't sleep"she said.
I couldn't really see her face even with the small light that the outside porch light was giving.
"How did I end up on the couch?" I asked .
"You fell asleep in the Hammock and Kathryn decided to go home and I laid you on the couch."she said
I nodded.
"Hey...how are things with that Darin guy ?" She asked as the moon light lit up the side of her face.
I shook my head .
"I really don't know...I have my ups and downs with him. But other Than that I love him! He's so cool and funny."I said smiling.
"Good...I jest want to say to be careful on there ...ok?"she asked leaning over the table and putting her hand down next to mine .
"What do you mean ?"I asked .
She let out a slow and quiet sigh.
"You know you can almost never know who to trust thiese days." She said
"Pff..it's not like he's gunna kill me or anything." I said scoffing.
She crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair .
"What ?" I said .
She shook her head and closed her eyes. "In my opinion I jest wouldn't talk to him anymore If I were you." She said.
Well I'm not you
"You better get some sleep " she said.
I nodded and headed up to my room and went to bed .
I know I can trust Darin.

Chapter 4(part2)
The next morning I decided to not talk to Darin because I didn't want to make him think that i was crazy about him or anything. So I went to go hang out with Marilyn for the day sense we hadn't spent time together in a while. we went to go get our nails done together because Marilyn had a friend that worked there and we were able to get our toes and nails done for free .
Then afterwords we went to go get frozen yogurt near the nail salon.
As We were sitting inside at an high table and talking when I felt my phone buzzing.
I pulled it out and looked to see who it was . Darin.
"Who is it ?"she asks pulling her spoon out of her mouth and looking at me .
I looked up from the screen and looked at her, and then back to the screen.
What do I say ?
"Uh..oh nobody jest..a friend ." I said.
She slowly nodded unsure .
I looked back at the text where he had said hey and his contact didn't have a phone number it just said Darin.
I stared at the screen.
How did Darin get my number??
I continued to stare at the screen.
Marilyn put her hand over on the screen .
I looked up at her .
"You ok?" She asked.
"Uhh..yeah.." I said unsure.
"You look like you saw a ghost." She said slightly chuckling.
"I'm fine don't worry about it I'm fine . Nothing's wrong."I said quickly putting my phone back into my back pocket.
I don't want Marilyn worrying about me talking to Darin.
Later after going to eat yogurt we went to go see a movie that I had been wanting to see .
When the movie was over we decided to head back home .
We got into the car and Marilyn started the engine and my phone went off again, and I knew that it was Darin. I quickly turned my phone off before it could go off again.
"Who's that ?"she asked .
"..Kathryn." I quickly said .
She nodded and pulled out of the parking lot .
"Are you hungry ?" She asked as she started to drive out of the parking lot.
I shook my head.
"Me ether ." She said chuckling.
"Did you have fun ?" She asked smiling .
"Totally !" I said happily.
"Thanks for taking me" I said as I smiled .
"Your welcome!" She said back .
When we got home it was ten o'clock and our parents had Already gone to bed and Me and Marilyn decided to jest go to bed as well.
I was worn out .
"See you in the morning." Marilyn said as she went to her room.
"Night!"I said back as I went up to mine.
I laid down on my bed and pulled out my phone and looked at the message that Darin had sent saying "hey what's up?"
I answered and said,
"I was out with my sister and we hung out. And how did you get my number ? Like I don't care but I'm just wondering ."
I waited a little before he had replied .
"Kathryn gave it to me."he said.
Kathryn?!
"Oh ok. Well I'm worn out. I'll talk to you tomorrow." I said.
"Ok . Goodnight ." He said.
"Goodnight." I said back as I turned my phone off and set it on my bedside table.
I changed into my sweat pants and a tee shirt and got in the bed .
why would he ask for my number ?...and why would Kathryn give it to him?
