Chapter 8

The next day we decided to go swimming in the river next to our camping spot.
It was really close by so it was really convenient.
Me and Kathryn were floating on floats and Marilyn was swimming around close by.
"So what are we going to do after this ?" I asked.
"Ugh! Let's not ruin the moment!" Kathryn complained at me .
I chuckled "ok!"
I laid my head back and stared at the sky.
The sky was so blue.
I wish everyday was like this.
We stayed in the water for a while longer an then we all were sitting around the fire with our towels wrapped around us.
It was only about noon and we had the whole rest of the day.
"So what now ?" I asked.
Marilyn shrugged.
"What do yall want to do?" She asked.
"I don't know." I said.
"Do you want to go shopping ?" Marilyn asked.
"Sure!" Kathryn said getting up.
I nodded and said ok and got up to go change clothes.
"We probably should have gone swimming at the end of the day instead ." I said laughing.
"Yeah-ya think?" Kathryn said grinning.
Later after we cleaned up we went to the mall near the camp grounds.
We were looking in the clothes section .
Me and Kathryn were looking at the jeans.
We had picked out some jeans that had diamonds on the back pocket.
" you ready to check out?" Marilyn asked .
"Yep!" I said handing her the pair of jeans.
"Cute." She said.
We went over to the counter and paid for them and headed back to camp.

Chapter 9(part2)

After the sun has set we made another fire and talked.
"tomorrow we can go tubing." Marilyn said.
I nodded.
"We may have to rent some. We didn't bring any." She said.
Jest then her phone rang.
She looked at the screen and her mouth opened as if she were going to say something.
She slowly stood up and put the phone up to her ear and said hello and Walked off to talk privately.
I looked at Kathryn. She looked back at me with an blank expression.
"Who do you think it is?" I asked.
Kathryn jest shrugged and slumped in her chair and stuffed her hands in her pockets and stared at the fire.
I chewed the inside of my cheek and waited for Marilyn to come back.
It had been at least ten minutes before she came back.
She sat back down in her chair speech less.
"who was it?" I asked looking at her expressionless face.
She jest continued staring into the fire as if she were under a spell. Then she quickly blinked .
"Huh?-oh. That-was jest mom-and dad." She said startled.
I nodded and continued to look at her face.
"How are they doing ?" I asked.
"Fine!..there doing fine." She said.
I nodded unsure. I looked at Kathryn who was still staring at the fire.
Jest then Marilyn stood up.
"Well..I'm tired-I'm gunna go ahead and get some sleep." She said walking over to the tent and crawling in.
"Ok..goodnight." I said .
Whats wrong with her? She never goes to bed this early. And if she were sick she wouldn't show it. Something's up.
And this time it's not my nerves saying this.
