Day 18

"The Gavel's Curse"

I stand in court, the scales tip high,

The gavel's curse befalls the weak,

Forbidding justice with every sigh,

And truth hides behind a painted cheek.

The laws that bind are chains of lead,

Denying me my daily bread,

While the guilty feast on the fruits of crime,

And virtue's light dims over time.

Oh, how the gavel's curse does reign, forcing me to bear the blame,

And though the law may seem divine, in its shadow, truth and justice decline.
