What's this? A double upload?? And another longer chapter at that! Over 3,000 words! I really didn't expect these chapters to be so long. I also think this is turning into a normal-sized fanfic and no longer a "short story" lmao.
The last 2 chapters haven't been my favourite but I think this one is a bit better. I quite like the first two (the first chapter being my favourite). So I apologise if the quality isn't as good as you'd hoped, but I have two specific chapters that I'm very excited for.
I think this story will be going well into Eclipse but I can't imagine it going past Breaking Dawn but we'll see! This story has already given me a few surprises and at this point it's literally just writing itself. I'll just let it do its thing.
Oh! Also, I made a playlist for my other fanfic "And So The Lion Fell In Love With The Wolf" and I felt like some of the songs there fit this fanfic, so I made a playlist for this fanfic too lmao. I just couldn't resist, music really helps with my writing. The songs are in order of story progression so the songs do fit the chapters in chronological order. The chronological order being top of the playlist (the beginning of the fanfic) to working your way down the bottom of the playlist (end of fanfic), if that makes any sense?? I haven't finished the fanfic, so there will be more songs to add!

Today was the day Edward went back to school.
He didn't want to be here, he never did. But today, he'd walk in a new man. Someone better. He still had growing to do, but all things considered, he'd say he had a pretty good start. Especially with the help of Carlisle and his wise words of wisdom. Edward was determined to get back on track. It would be challenging, but that never stopped him from doing anything.
Emmet, Rosalie and Jasper had already graduated, so it was only him and Alice in the car on their way to school. Alice, although a little concerned was delighted for Edward to come back to school. The others were very supportive and a little salty that they couldn't go with the two to make sure Edward was ok. But as long as Alice was there, Edward was in the best of hands.
"Edward... Why on earth does it stink of Jacob in here?" the pixie-like sister twitched her nose in disgust as soon as she hopped in.
"Alice, that's not very nice," Edward scolded and made a mental note to keep air freshener in the car. "I ran into him the other day and I politely gave him a ride to the border," he said matter-of-factly without looking at her as he pulled out of the garage and onto the road.
"...You don't like Jacob," Alice stated simply.
"Well, I never disliked him. I was just wary. After running into him, I now realise the wolves aren't what we think. Jacob was a pleasure to speak to."
"I am so confused."
"Alice, I no longer want you to think poorly of Jacob. Or any of the wolves, for that matter. They've done nothing but help us and..." Edward swallowed, "...Bella. I would appreciate it if our families could be civil. Which means no more insults," he glared pointedly at his sister briefly.
Alice wore confusion on her face like it was the latest fashion. "So you two are friends now? That's why I couldn't see you? How the hell did that happen?!"
