Also, since we're nearing the end of this fanfic (omg I wanna cry again), I was thinking of maybe doing a Q&A if people are interested? If not then that's totally fine. "I'm not just gonna hide while you're out taking all the risks for me," Bella argued stubbornly as she followed Edward to his car.

They were at his house, about to meet Jacob at the field where the battle will be.

"If it's Victoria involved, I need to keep you as far away from the fight as possible," Edward argued back.

"Jasper said that I could be of help!" she pointed out.

"We won't need your help. With the wolves in this, it's an easy win," Edward tried to reason before he sighed. "The rest of us aren't going to have enough to do," Edward was talking out of his ass now. He just wanted to keep Bella out of this as much as possible.

"Ok, either it's so dangerous that I have to hide, or it's so easy that you're gonna be sidelined," she called out his bluff. "Which is it?"

He shook his head, "It's dangerous for you, it's easy for us."

"Well, I think it's dangerous for us to be apart. How many times do we have to prove that?" she reminded him. "I'll be worried. You'll be worried. And we'll both be more vulnerable."

That was true, to be fair. Edward did feel more comfortable being around Bella just to keep an eye on her to make sure she was ok.

"Ok, you're right," he agreed finally.

"So, I'm coming with you," she confirmed.

"No. We both stay away together," Edward corrected.

"...I can't make you choose between me and your family," Bella deflated. She probably did want Edward to choose her, but she wouldn't admit that.

"The only way I can protect you is to be around you," Edward stated with finality.

They got into his car and drove off. Having Bella in his car again felt strange. Not right. That was Jacob's seat.

"Hey," Edward smiled softly, wrapping Jacob in a hug and really trying to ignore the fact that he was shirtless and pressing into his chest.

"You're not fighting?" Jacob asked into Edward's shoulder. "What, did you pull a muscle or something?" he teased with a smirk as they let each other go.

"He's doing it for me, ok?" Bella smiled slightly, Jacob wrapping her in a hug too.

Jacob hummed, lips pursed in thought, "So, what's the plan?" he asked when he let her go.

"This field will give us an advantage in battle," Jasper explained. "We need to lure the newborns with Bella's scent, but it needs to end here."

"Edward and I are going to a campsite. Even if he carries me, they'll still pick up on our scents," Bella informed Jacob.
