You may have noticed that the cover has changed from red to blue. I wasn't planning on changing it, but then I thought about the upcoming chapters and figured blue was now more fitting :)
Enjoy!💜)

Edward drove the Rabbit back to Jacob's house, sulking all the way there. He sat in the car for a moment after parking it, just fuming in silence.
Damn it, Bella. Why did she have to be so-... so...? Difficult?! Taking his precious time with Jacob away.
'Don't be so childish, Edward,' he thought to himself grumpily.
He huffed, and he puffed. Until he finally decided to get out and knock on the door, letting Billy know that he brought Jacob's car back since Jacob had taken Bella home after running into her and that he should be back soon. Billy thanked him and said that he got a call from Jacob letting him know Edward would be coming to the Rez just to drop the car off. They said their goodnights and farewell's and Edward took his leave.
He ignored whichever sneering wolf that was patrolling tonight as he stomped through the woods and back home. Paul, was it?
He ignored the wonder of his family too as he stomped up the stairs and into his room.
'Edward? Where have you been?' Carlisle asked in his mind from downstairs, knowing Edward could hear him.
"I spent the afternoon with Jacob. Not on the Rez," he grumbled back, kicking off his shoes and slumping down on his bed.
He put on his earphones and played some of his more depressing music on his phone.
'Then why are you so moody?' Jasper asked.
"I don't want to talk about it! Just leave me alone," Edward snapped back, turning the volume all the way up to drown out any physical noise the best he could. How fitting for 'Creep' by Radiohead to play.
"And here I was, thinking he'd finally grown out of his emo phase," Rosalie sighed.
"Rosalie, some people never really grow out of phases like that. They just... change," Alice shrugged.
Edward groaned, rolling over and stuffing his face into his pillow. As the music blasted in his ear — surely to damage them if he was a regular human — he thought about his day with Jacob.
Oh, God. He liked Jacob.
Edward rolled it over in his head. Dissecting the words and playing them over and over again as he thought about them.
Yep. He definitely likes Jacob. He was down bad for the Quileute.
He grabbed the shirt Jacob wore the other week — still lying on top of his laundry basket after he remembered to take it out of his car — and put it over his pillow to cuddle into, drowning in Jacob's scent.
How was it even possible? He's a wolf? His sworn enemy, yada yada.
He listened to his Lana Del Rey playlist instead.
Then all his thoughts drifted back to that beautiful sonofabitch, how everything good in Edward's life seemed to lead back to Jacob. How he runs back to Jacob like it's the only place he knows. Jacob was quite literally the light of Edward's life. The help, the support, the care. It was everything Edward wanted. Everything he needed. And Jacob was there to give it all and at the very least as much as he could. Jacob took Edward in when he was at his worst, his most vulnerable. And instead of taking advantage of it, he just... helped. Made Edward feel ok. Safe. Like it wasn't the end. Like maybe there was a possibility that everything was going to change for the better. A possibility that Edward could live, not just survive.
Jacob had become a home for Edward. All it took was for him to think about the wolf when he felt himself drain down a pit of despair, and it was like Jacob was right there with him — pulling him back out with his sharp canines and the softest of hands. Jacob healed him. Edward hardly ever feels the way he used to, now. Like the hole inside him was shrinking, and whatever the size, Jacob fit snuggly into it.
Jacob's warmth — pure and burning and dripping with the dreamiest blue. Like that very first night Jacob had found him. Jacob's smile, his laugh, his bluntness, his mind, his wit, his humour, his charm, his selflessness, his everything. It was all so perfect and so pure and so fucking Jacob.
Whenever he's around Jacob, he feels himself rest, slip away somewhere far off where neither of them can be reached. And it's just the two of them. Surrounded by blue. Like he could actually fall asleep. Like he could actually... cry. Like Aphrodite, Freyja, Eros, Cupid, Inanna, Juno, Hathor, Astarte, Venus, Anteros, Freyr, and every other God themselves came down from the heavens to place a kiss on Edward's cheek one by one. Each kiss blossomed a flower between the crystals of his skin and sap leaking azure blue. Whispering in his ear that he's not alone, that he'll never be alone again. That he's worth something. Something to protect and cherish, despite who he is and what he's done.
Every light, every star in the sky, all of it, shone for Jacob.
To be wrapped in Jacob's fire, his plasma, is a blessing. And Edward stands by the fact that if he were to die, it would be Jacob's fire that ends him. And he wouldn't wish for anything else. It was the greatest gift of mercy.
He wants to feel Jacob on him. Feel his thighs around Edward. His lips brush against white marble. His hand's grace over diamonds and bronze. His eyes glance upon glass. His hair flutter over the indestructible. Indestructible to everything but Jacob. Just Jacob.
All Jacob.
Edward jumped at the sudden ping of his phone. He grumbled irritatedly as he reached for his phone and unlocked it to see who the hell messaged him.
Jacob. That's the hell who.
Edward fumbled with his phone to open the messages as quickly as possible.
It was the pictures from today.
Edward looked through them with equal attention and fondness. Looked at Jacob's beautiful face as the camera captured his smile and laugh. Edward thought that the camera didn't do it justice. Edward laughed at the funny pictures. He set one as his wallpaper, the one with Jacob dying from laughter and Edward's face blurred with one eye open and mouth twisted up in what could be a laugh or a cry. He looked drunk.
'This one is my new wallpaper,' Edward texted Jacob with the attached image.
'😭😭 that was so damn funny. I'm setting mine as this one,' Jacob replied, sending the image.
It was of Jacob smiling happily at the camera. Next to him on his right was Edward. Smiling at Jacob. He looked so happy, mouth stretched wide in a toothy, crooked, Cheshire cat smile. Crinkled eye's radiating the warmth he absorbed from Jacob.
Edward gulped, his throat suddenly running incredibly dry. This is the first time he's ever seen himself smile like that. And at Jacob, no less. And Jacob deemed this particular picture worthy of something to keep on his phone. Something he wanted to look at every day, the first thing he see's when he opens his phone.
'Very cute. Thank you for today, by the way. I appreciate the day out,' Edward responded.
'You can expect more embarrassment in the future. Also bella got home ok, shes fine. And thanks for taking the rabbit back, i promise to pay you back!' Jacob texted.
'You better,' Edward replied.
'Come over on friday? We can settle it then'
'Deal. Be there or be square.'
'Its my house!'
'Just making you eat your own words.'
'Whatever loser. Ill be there😤'
