Remember when I said this was going to be a "short story?" Lmao
I genuinely struggled at the beginning of this chapter but I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out.
Happy Chapter 20! Enjoy!💜)

Edward opened the front door for her.
"Hello, Bella," he said politely. He frowned at her when she just stood at the door. "What are you doing outside? What's wrong?"
"Nothing," she side smiled nervously before stepping inside.
"The guest bedroom is already set up for you," Edward informed. Bella thanked him.
"Hey Bells," Jacob greeted, hugging her tightly when she saw him come down the stairs. "You ok?" he sighed into her hair.
"I'll be alright," she smiled up at him genuinely when he let her go.
"Wanna watch a scary movie?" Jacob smirked.
"Before we might actually die? Absolutely not," she shook her head with a giggle.
"Well, I don't know about this guys," he jutted his head toward Edward, "but I am not watching some mushy chick flick," he chuckled.
Bella rolled her eyes, heading upstairs to put her bag in the guest bedroom.
Edward and Jacob went back up to his room, and when Bella came out of the guest room, she saw Jacob plopped on the bed Edward had got for them before Bella's eighteenth birthday, talking with him casually. She went to step in to join them before Edward rushed over to her.
"Uhm, actually, Bella," Edward mumbled to the girl in the doorway, stopping her from entering the room. "Is it alright if I speak to Jacob privately for a second?"
"Oh," she blinked up at the vampire, "Yeah, sure."
"We won't be long," he said. Bella stepped back out and watched as Edward closed the door on her.
"Right..." she said to herself, walking to one of the sitting rooms downstairs.
"Real subtle, Ed," Jacob remarked sarcastically.
Edward turned around and stood between the bed and the doorway, looking at Jacob sprawled out like a starfish.
"Stay," Edward begged Jacob.
Jacob sighed, moving to sit up, "Ed, you know I can't."
"Please," Edward begged again, lowering his voice to a quiet volume, "Don't leave me here alone with her."
Jacob chuckled, sitting at the edge of the bed. "She's not going to kill you."
"But it's awkward," Edward cringed with his lip curled in a scowl.
"Stop being a baby," Jacob shook his head as he stood up and made his way past Edward to open the door.
Edward reached his hand out to grip Jacob's arm, stopping the wolf in his tracks.
"Please," Edward whispered.
Jacob took in a breath and released it gently with the corner of his mouth quirked up. He placed his hands on Edward's arms and walked him backwards toward the bed. He sat Edward down at the edge and crouched down to the floor in front of him.
"Let's make a pact," Jacob said, looking up at Edward with mischief in his eyes.
Edward narrowed his, smirking unsurely, "...Ok?"
