If anyone is interested in being the Beta for this fic or any other of mine, please let me know!
Don't really like the first half of this chapter but the second half is kinda cute. She kinda served. Had to cut up this chapter into two parts hehehehheh sorry. Also, if you haven't noticed, I decided to give each chapter a title. It's just the title of the songs from the chapter which is cheap ik but it just really fits. And for all the returning readers who didn't see: I made a playlist for this fic. Each song fits the chapter. I put the song in the summary so why don't you go back and maybe give the previous chapters a listen to what song it has!

There will be more songs to add for future chapters.
Hope you enjoy💜)

Something was comforting in returning to school. He'd been countless times, and it just kept getting worse every time. But then he'd leave, and he'd miss the simple things like the routine and the community, as crap as they were. He'd miss the teachers who gave a shit. He'd miss the few individuals who were actually decent people. He'd miss it because it was almost like a second home when you go to the same place every day for several years. He'd never want to go back, and it really was like hell each time. That didn't stop any sentiment from slithering its slimy way into Edward's heart.
But maybe there was something else to it. There was something else he missed. He's had this feeling since before he became a vampire, and he could never quite put his finger on what that feeling was.
"Bella," Edward called softly to the girl next to him.
She looked to her left, surprised Edward was starting a conversation with her.
"I would like to ask a favour of you," he said reluctantly.
She scoffed at that, "What do you want?"
Edward swallowed. He knew it was selfish to ask and there was a good chance he'd be turned down, but it really was the quickest way.
"Could I have Jacob's phone number, please?"
Bella blinked.
"No."
"Please? I understand why you'd say no, but-"
"If you're such best friends, then why don't you ask him yourself?" she scowled with finality.
He knew there was no way she'd budge. He figured as much. Well, it was worth a try.
And then there was that feeling again. Like an itch that needed to be scratched. As Edward looked at Bella - as if trying to pry her mind open to force the information out of her with nothing but sheer willpower alone - he felt that feeling grow into something acidic. He was getting frustrated, and just looking at Bella vexed him. He was thrust back to when he first met Bella and her silent mind. And it was that same feeling. He never could read Bella.
To spare himself, he couldn't look at her anymore.
The rest of the school day was easier, he took comfort in the minds of others. It was good to be back, he was getting better at dealing with everything.
