We have now officially entered Eclipse!

I messed up the timeline a bit in chapter 8. I wrote down that it was the 11th April when it should have been the 4th April. I went back to change it. Everything else is completely the same, so don't worry about it. If you're wondering, the beginning of this chapter takes place on Sunday 14th May, the texts in the middle are from Tuesday 16th May, and the chase for Victoria at the end on Saturday 20th May.

Enjoy!💜)

The next day, Jacob had asked to come over to Sam's for a one-on-one meeting. Jacob wanted to tell Sam before he found out the wrong way at the wrong time. Maybe he could help.

They were sat at the large round dining table with Emily preparing dinner behind them. Jacob didn't mind. He liked Emily and trusted her.

"What's this about, Jacob?" Sam asked sternly but with patience much like Carlisle's. He always liked Sam, even if he was an asshole sometimes. He was like a big brother.

Jacob fiddled with his cold glass of water anxiously — courtesy of Emily. He took a sip of it, licking his lips. Kept his eyes on the glass as he spoke.

"Edward likes me... Like... like-likes me." He informed. He looked up to gauge Sam's reaction.

Emily turned around to look at Jacob with surprise. She then smiled wistfully and resumed her cooking.

Sam's face was expressionless, except for the constant furrow in his brow he always seemed to wear. "... And you like him back?"

Jacob looked down, his fingers wet from the water vapour on the glass. "If I did?"

Jacob liked Bella. He knew that much. But now he was curious about what Sam would think if he liked Edward back.

Sam shook his head. "I wouldn't like it. But because he's a leech... Not because he's a he ... "

Sam was fully aware of Jacob's anatomy. Everyone was. But Jacob was a boy. So, Sam guessed it didn't really matter what gender who was, if Jacob and Leah were anything to go by.

Sam continued, "If you like him, then I won't stop you from seeing him. But you have to keep him in check. And don't let this affect your pack duties," he said authoritatively.

It didn't matter who Edward was or what he meant to anyone. He was still a threat, and there was always a possibility something could go wrong.

Jacob smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Sam."

"Also, you're on patrol tomorrow with Jared," Sam informed Jacob.

Jacob groaned but forgot about it when Emily set down the dinner plates full of food and took a seat in between them as they ate dinner together.

"Everything ok?" Billy asked when Jacob walked in from the front door.

"Yeah, I'm on patrol tomorrow," Jacob answered with a roll of his eyes, earning a chuckle from Billy.

When Jacob entered his room, he flopped down into the desk chair with a heavy sigh and slumped his head down on the desk with a thunk.

Damn it, Edward. Why did he have to be so-... so...? Difficult?!

He didn't want to make things awkward between them. He really liked Edward as a friend. He had a special kind of love for the vampire. A different closeness than the one he had with Quil and Embry, like 'Brotherly love' and all that. Compared to that, he definitely did not see Edward as a brother as he did so with Quil and Embry. He cringed at the thought. But that didn't mean anything. Sure, Jacob is into boys too, but he liked Bella. Why did Edward even like him?
