THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEN AND BOYS

Ashton enters the room to find Alexis lying on the couch, hugging a pillow. The sofa is somewhat of a place to lay on with whatever feeling you may deal with. Ashton can't help but chuckle. She hasn't seen Luke in a week due to the cancelation of a game and because he's been busy. She didn't want to be a burden.

But she misses him.

And she still feels guilty about the time they spoke last.

Of course, they've texted. They've called even. But she misses his appearance, and she hates that she does so. She hasn't been able to stop thinking about him. She doesn't know what she wants to do once they see each other again. She is whipped, and she hates it. She never thought she would fall so fast, but she never opened up for it.

She misses the way he held her or the way he kissed her. Maybe she's needy for that; she does think so herself. She looks up to find Ashton looking at her. Her face doesn't change, though. She does feel a lot of self-pity. Usually, for Michael, she'd go to his practice if she missed him, and she would've done the same if it weren't for her work.

"You really can't do this until you see him again. You know that, right?" He takes some steps towards the girl while her eyes discover his clothes. A red blouse nearly unbuttoned and some wide trousers. That, in combination with the curls, looks very good. Not to mention hot.

"Let me be. Don't you know how annoying this is? I have never felt this way. I never felt the need to be with somebody so badly," a silly smirk grows on his face as Alexis keeps falling deeper into her self-pity. Ashton is still rooting for them to be together, and it seems he doesn't even have to work for it.

"You are so in love with him," Ashton teases her.

"No! No, no, no, I'm not in love. It's just... He is interesting, and I never thought I would say that. It's just that I want to get to know him. I feel like he knows a lot about me while I don't know shit about him." She sighs deeply. "Besides, he's not the relationship kinda guy if I liked him like that." 

"Excuse-moi, lady," Ashton tuts. He shoves her legs off the couch, almost making her fall, and sits beside her. "Have you asked him to hang out with you?" She shakes her head. "He is busy, though; some big changes that needed to happen are going on."

"Like what?" She asks him, a bit offended. Of course, there're things more important than her, but it also shows where his priorities lie. She was never even on his priority list; all she ever thought about in the last week was him. 

Alex, honey, shut up. You're getting annoying right now.

Luke had been busy; he's been seeking an apartment himself as well now and seen as the privacy he's been wanting now. Not a Michael coming in, restless fucks without anyone disturbing him, you name it. He's had enough money to buy furniture and to have the kitchen he had in mind installed by people; god, his bank account isn't even empty now.

It has been a week, and it's nearly done now. He only needs some finishing touches. He's never cared for decoration, but he has to admit that the place looks empty without it. Yet, that can happen at any time. He wants the site to look good for Alexis. She has to be the first girl. Ashton also helped him with some things; he knows Luke has been busy with it. He hasn't skipped a training but made sure someone was there anyways.

As the last people leave, he falls on the couch, still having paint stains on his face. The living room needed a little color, and he wanted to do something himself.

But besides being so busy with the house, he tried to remain to have contact with Alexis. God, he misses her, and it's bothering him. He would never fall for a girl, and definitely not a girl he used to hate. But he wants her around so badly. He takes a quick sniff test and realizes that he desperately needs a shower.
