DEJA VU DATE NIGHT (PART TWO)

"Well, how about we have our dinner?" Luke asks the girl, handing her the box of pasta with the plastic fork he asked for. He's praying to god that it doesn't break. Alexis smiles at the blonde and can't help but feel the butterflies in her stomach seeing him smile. Fucking hell, how can she be normal around someone she still loves so much?

And they have finished their food, which they so desperately needed. They were hungrier than they thought they'd be. But never have they enjoyed each other's company more. Something about the tension between them makes everything a little... Extra.

They'd lie to each other and themselves when they say they don't want to get naked. But something is holding Alexis back. Not like they talked about getting naked, but it's rather obvious.

However, Alexis can't do it. She can not go down that road again. She can't live with herself knowing they probably won't be in a relationship ever again. She hurt Luke, and she still blames herself for all the actions and mistakes she made. If anything, will he trust her? Will she trust herself? How can she be sure Luke doesn't just want a careless fling?

"Tell me what's going on," Luke says as he notices. She shrugs her shoulders, unsure where to begin and if she should. "You can tell me," he assures her.

"I love you," she blurts out in a whisper. The words are so damn clear to him. "And I can't stop," she feels tears burning behind her eyes. "I wish I knew how to so we can at least be friends or anything. I'm not even sure if that's what you want. I get that you don't want anything with me romantically, but... I don't know how to get over you."

"I told you earlier that I could never be just friends with you. I didn't mean I'd see you as a stranger, Finley." Her green eyes look up, and the tears grow in her eyes more. "We need a little more time to work on us, but I'd love nothing more than to be with you." A smile appears on her face as she notices how genuine he is. Luke moves himself to the other side and wraps his arm around the girl. His other hand is wiping away the tears that have escaped her eyes.

"You're not mad at me?" She asks him.

"If you can forgive me, I can forgive you," he says. He's been too whiny about it. He's been mad about it, called her names, and gave it a place. Call him a baby, but he needed to vent about how he felt, about what happened. "Now, what do you say about a walk on the beach?"

"I would love that," she admits. Luke throws the boxes away and follows the girl into the sand. The golden hour shines perfectly on her. Her skin looks golden, her hair looks magical, and everything looks perfect. Luke smiles at the girl and quickly runs towards her to lift her. "Luke!" She giggles. Her legs move in the air. It's just like a fish on dry land.

"I'll put you down under one condition," he whispers in her ear. She feels goosebumps on her skin. "You give me your best kiss," Alexis bites her lip. She really does want to kiss him. It's been a month and a half, and she hasn't been able to think about anything else.

"Who says I want that?" She asks the blonde. He puts her down and looks at her. He's confused about her question. Has he misread her? Suddenly insecurity rises in her body. Luke notices it quickly, but he doesn't know what to do. He can tell something's off, but he doesn't know what it is. There's a reason she's been... Feeling.

"Are you okay?" He decides to ask. "I mean, if you don't wanna do those kinda things, that's okay." He tells her. She shakes her head.

"It's just..." She tries to come up with the right words, but either way, it will come out of her mouth shitty. "Why do you want me? I'm not even sure if you want me. I know you had your rebound, and maybe it's more than that. I know I just wanted to talk, but I-"
