WONDERS HAVEN'T LEFT THE WORLD... YET

*

Alexis pears through the store as she tries to find the proper customer LPs. Somehow, for an evening, it is so occupied. She can't figure out why. She barely ever has to work behind the cash register, but now that she does, she hates it. She much rather does something else. But all these people can't find what they're looking for.

"Alex, you're on break," Bea tells the girl. Her hair is dyed purple, and the color looks even better. She might be able to wear every color and get away with it. Bea wants to walk away, but Alexis grabs her arm.

"How come it's so occupied here?"

"Haven't you noticed the discount on LPs today?" Alexis thinks back and indeed realizes that every LP has a discount. It makes sense now. "We're closing at seven today, though," Alexis frowns but decides to go to the cafeteria before asking more. She grabs her phone once she finally sits down.

HEMMINGS [15:07]
hey you
i'm picking you up at nine
ash is out tonight; he has a "date"
so you can decide whether it's going to be your place or mine

FINLEY [18:25]
apparently, the store closes at seven for some reason
i have no idea whether or not i'll be done by then
and i do want to take a shower, so i guess my place?
for the sake of the clothes

HEMMINGS [18:27]
i stole some clothes of yours so you'd have spare ones when being at my place

FINLEY [18:27]
I don't know if that's scary or problematic

HEMMINGS [18:27]
both duh

Alexis puts her phone away and looks around. Bea is standing in the corner of the room with a big smirk on her face. Only now, Alexis notices she has a big smile on her face. She immediately lets it fall and grabs her little juice box. Maybe she's a little kid, but she likes those. They're so cute.

"We close at seven, so we get a final sneak at the vinyls," Bea chuckles. "Besides, I have a date with a wonderful person, and nobody could work for me, so they have to deal with the consequences." Alexis chuckles and sips from her juice box.

"So you're telling me this but not giving me more information?" Bea chuckles and grabs her phone to show me a picture.

"Their name is August," a smile grows on Alexis's face. Their hair is definitely matching, and it looks good—no clue if they did that on purpose or if that's just lucky faith. "We've been on a few dates, and I really like them. I have even introduced them to Luke."

"So it's pretty serious, huh?" Alexis asks, looking back at the girl. Bea nods, and her cheeks turn a darker shade of red.

"They have been so amazing so far and so different from the people I used to date." She tells Alexis. "And Luke may be the best kisser I've ever kissed, but they have topped it." Alexis chuckles while Bea keeps on talking about August. "And look at these tattoos; aren't they amazing?" Bea keeps on showing pictures of her love interest. Alexis can't help but smile. She has never seen Bea this sentimental.

When the store finally closes, Bea and Alexis browse the leftover records. Alexis loves records, but she never really had the money for it. She does admit she took the record player and some records with her to Ashton. Ashton apparently had a whole collection himself, so she decided to add hers and keep the record player somewhere else.

"Do you think I should buy one for Luke?" Bea looks up, and a smile creeps up on her lips.

"There's this one piece he's been eyeing forever, but he doesn't want to buy it since he thinks it's too expensive." Alexis frowns at the girl. Will an expensive gift really do it? "It's not that expensive, though, but he's been doubting buying it since he already has another copy of it which he bought for a shit ton of money."
