Callen's POV

We had been at the boat shed for almost two hours and we have hardly managed to get a word out of Brandel.

"Brandel, do you honestly think you're going to get away with this is you don't talk?" Sam asked.

"Fine. You want me to talk, okay. You're not going to like what I have to say. Your little 'LAPD liaison' is lying to you." He admitted, causing Sam and I to look at him with confusion.

"What are you talking about?" I asked. "Yeah that's right. I bet you he told you all kinds of stories about how his mother and brother left him and how he shot me in self-defence. Hah! Did you honestly believe that? Fools! Martin Deeks, as he calls himself today, abandoned Linda and Max to go live with some idiot of a girlfriend. They moved to Los Angeles when things got too tough for them to handle. She got pregnant and left before Marty could even have time to process it. Okay and maybe the self-defence part might of been true from his eyes. The gun wasn't even loaded, I was just using it to scare him, so he would go out doing stupid things, like getting random girls pregnant!" He yelled. Okay that was a lot to process. There is no way that this is true, right?

"Your lying, Deeks wouldn't do that." Sam defended. "Why would I lie now? I have already lost everything, I'm going to jail no matter what the outcome of this whole 'situation' is, so why would I spend my time and energy lying now?" Okay, I'm confused. What if this is true?

I walked out of the room, Sam following behind. "We have to go speak to Deeks." Sam nodded and we headed towards our car and drove off to the hospital.

We walked into the hospital at about nine-fifteen, scanning around the waiting area, we found Kensi and Deeks sitting in a far corner. Kensi had her arm wrapped around Deeks. I nudged Sam and nodded towards them, making Sam laugh. Were they together now?

"Is there something we don't know about?" I asked, trying to hide my laughter. Sam responded " I don't know, but what I do know, is that I want to know what it is."

"Yeah, like. What exactly did you promise him? Kens?" I asked, pointing towards Deeks. I realise I probably shouldn't of said that because Kensi turned around and punched me in the shoulder with the hand that wasn't intertwined with Deeks'. "Shut up Callen! As for you Sam, we are just friends. Excuse me for wanting to be there for my partner when he needs me. Instead of teasing us, you should be supporting Deeks. This is a hard time for him, so cut him some damn slack!" Kensi yelled. Oops, big mistake. I suddenly stop laughing and look over towards Sam who had also stopped laughing. He looked back at me with seriousness crossing his face. Oops.

"Okay. Calm down Kens, we were just kidding around." I stated, turning to her with regret clearing my face.

"Sorry." She stated.

"Why the hell are you holding my hand so tight? Are you trying to cut off my circulation or somthing?" Deeks complained. "Shut up Deeks. You told me not to let go. I was just keeping my promise!" Kensi yelled back.

"You made Kensi promise not to let you go?" Sam asked, laughing quietly."Well I didn't think you or Callen would want that honour? Although Callen might, we haven't heard of a girlfriend in a while." Deeks teased.

"The guy does have a point." Sam agreed. Gee, I thought partners are supposed to back each other up!

"Hey, yeah. Why is that?" Kensi asked, suddenly interested in teasing someone other than Deeks.

"I don't have time for relationships! I'm a busy man! And hey, you're one to talk! You're always talking about hot girls, but when was the last time you actually had a girlfirend?" I asked, pointing towards Deeks.

"Hey! I can get a girlfriend any time I want! Have you not seen this face?" Deeks asked, using his hand to motion across his face. Callen just laughed.

"Come on Deeks, we all know the reason why you don't have a girlfriend!" Sam teased.

"Ohh yeah, why is that? Hmm, Mr 'I know everything Hanna'?" Deeks teased back. Anyone got some popcorn?

"You like Kensi." Sam stated, making Deeks turn red. "You don't have to be embarrassed Deeks, it's pretty obvious."

"Haha, what are you talking about? How could I like her? She punches me every time I even speak!" Deeks argued, leading to a punch in the shoulder from Kensi. "See!" He yelled, making me and Sam laugh. Kensi was giving Deeks the death stare, shuffling in her seat, leaning against the wall, probably thinking of the different ways she could kill Deeks without anyone knowing.

She got up and walked up to a nurse that had just walked out of Linda's room, her fingers still intertwined with Deeks'. I looked closer and I could see Deeks' hand turning purple. Usually I would be protective about him hurting Kensi, but now I'm more concerned about Kensi hurting him! Just as I went to sit down, I heard Deeks scream in pain.

"Kensi!" He yelled, quickly releasing his hand from her grip and shaking it around trying to get rid of the pain that was shooting up and down the palm of his hand from Kensi squeezing it so tight. Kensi just stared at him and laughed hysterically. "My bad." She stated, not showing any guilt what so ever. Lucky we're at a hospital.

Sam and I sat down and pulled out our phones, Sam had opened up a game of clash of clans, while I opened up candy crush. I still couldn't figure out how to pass level ten. Damn it. I'm a federal agent and I don't know how to pass level ten of candy crush.

"You're still on that level?" Sam asked , leaning over my shoulder watching me play candy crush. "Hah, you can talk. What level are you up to?"

"six-hundred-and-twenty-six" Sam responded. Ohh. Okay. If only our work as federal agents were rearranging candies everyday. Then explosions would actually be enjoyable.

"What are you talking about!?" Deeks yelled, turning everyone's head in this direction. Sam and I got up and walked over to him and Kensi to see what was happening.

"I am so sorry Mr Deeks. There was nothing we could do." The nurse replied. Ohh crap, that doesn't sound good. Deeks got his jacket and stormed out of the hospital tears pouring down his face like a water bottle had just been splashed on his face.

Kensi went to go after him, but I held her back. "Kens, let him go."
