By the time it reached dawn, the two awoke to the other group talking.
"Dylan?" Sam yawned, looking over to see Dylan still sound asleep. She sighed and got out of the bed to be welcomed by the cool morning air. She was lucky she was still wearing Dylan's sweater, but it didn't help much with the temperature.
"Sam?" Dylan groaned in question as she awoke in the bed. She rubbed her eyes and looked around to see Sam up from the bed. "How long have you been up?"
"Only a few minutes." Sam said with a faint smile, then she looked at the alarm clock on the nightstand. "We should probably get going."
Dylan nodded her head in response.
Sam went near the door and when she opened it, she found the morning sky. The sunrise as the sun struggled to rise at the current time.
Dylan followed Sam outside and they went over to the group's door, and knocked. Only to thank them for a ride, and to be offered another.
By that point it wasn't too long before they were back in the van and on their way to the university they needed to get to. Once they were dropped off, Dylan had waved goodbye to Grace who sat in the front seat, driving.
"Where is your brother's house from here?" Sam asked.
"Not too far if we can get a bus there." Dylan replied, looking up at the sky and seeing something. "What is that?" she asked, squinting at the sky.
"What does it look like?"
"Silver, almost."
Sam's eyes widened. "Shit, we need to hide."
"Why–"
Before Dylan could finish her sentence, Sam grabbed her arm and they ran to the university.
"Sam–we can't go in there–" Dylan said, trying to catch up with Sam's pace.
Sam stopped and ran behind a tree with Dylan.
"You go here right?" she looked from the sky to Dylan.
"Y-yeah."
"Where's your dorm? We need to hide there until he goes away."
"He? Who's he?"
"Sol. A Sin who is faster than a damn bullet. If he sees us, he'll get us in a matter of seconds."
"Yeah, okay. Follow me."
Dylan and Sam stayed low as they continued their way to Dylan's dorm.
The two made their way to the dorm building labeled; Lightning, and went in. They rushed up the stairs until Dylan had frantically opened the door to her dorm.
"Do they just keep them unlocked?" Sam questioned.
"No, and this isn't even my dorm. I live in an apartment."
"Right, I forgot." Sam sighed.
"I just know that this one never gets locked because someone broke the system and this room is never locked because the idiots think it'll lock for them."
Dylan opened the door and they found themselves in a messy, but hidden dorm.
They hid behind a bed. The sunlight shone through the closed curtains, but the shadow of Sol was visible outside as it went by.
Dylan tensed up everytime he went by and Sam tried her best to keep them hidden for a while.
〰〰〰
The two left after about an hour. Sam knew that Sol had left, but she wanted to make sure he was gone somewhere far and not a few blocks.
"It's safe out there, we can leave if you'd like." Sam assured Dylan.
"Yeah. Yeah, let's get out of here." Dylan replied, shakily.
Sam looked at her as she slowly got up shaking.
"Do you want to call your brother beforehand?" she asked.
"Yeah. Yeah." she gulped. "That sounds like a good idea." Dylan pulled her phone out of her pocket and immediately went to call her brother.
"¿Hola?" a voice from the other side of the phone answered.
"Audré, soy Dylan. Necesito que cierres tus ventanas y persianas. Estaré allí en unos minutos."
"¿Dylan? ¿Qué está sucediendo? Suenas preocupado."
"No puedo explicarlo ahora–o al menos de la manera correcta. Sólo necesito que me escuches y que confíes en mí. Por favor."
There was a pause. Dylan gulped again, regaining her breath, waiting for a response.
"Será mejor que tengas una buena razón para preocuparme ahora mismo cuando llegues aquí. Ahora date prisa, no quiero que te lastimes con lo que sea que no me digas."
Dylan let out a shaky, but quiet chuckle and responded once more before hanging up.
"Gracias, estaré allí pronto."
She hung up and the two were on their way to Audré's house.
But something about that room left a horrible gut feeling in Sam.
