Dylan and Sam both got into the van of the teenagers and they began their way back to Gravestone.
Sam looked over at Dylan, who sat across from her, who had formed goosebumps across her skin from the cool air. "Dylan." She connected back into Dylan's thoughts. There was nothing for her to want to know, she just wanted a conversation that didn't involve the unknown group hearing every word of it.
Dylan's attention snapped over to Sam. "Yes?"
"Would you like your sweater back? You look cold."
"No, I'm fine."
"You sure?"
"Positive."
Dylan let a soft smile form and Sam averted her eye contact slowly. She then instead looked at the young boy who sat on the ground. From what she might assume, the young boy may be Abby's younger brother as they both look very alike.
They made it past the guards that were camping the fence at the border of Willow Water and Gravestone. And it wouldn't be too long until they got to a motel for the night.

Both Dylan and Sam shared a room as the other group got their own.
"Do you trust them?" Dylan spoke up between their awkward silence.
Sam sighed. "Not really. But, considering that they can help us, and we can help them in ways that may not involve the infection, I think we should trust them."
Dylan went quiet. "How long are we going to stay here?"
Sam responded from the bathroom when putting up a towel to cover the mirror. "Probably for the night." she paused. "In the morning we should look for some sort of bag to hide the artifacts in."
"I think my brother has some sort of bag I can borrow." Dylan said, sitting on the bed.
Sam came out from the bathroom to see Dylan on the bed, looking behind her and out the window.
"Does he live in Gravestone?" Sam asked.
"Yeah. But we'd probably have to go to the university so I don't put my brother in danger of the Sins." Dylan looked back at Sam.
"Yeah, that's smart." Sam took a breath of relief. "What university?"
"StoneWalk."
Sam walked over a bit and sat on the bed next to Dylan, lying down and looking up at the ceiling.
"Was it stressful when you realized you had to find the note?"
"A little bit." Sam sighed. "But only because I knew the Sins would be after it as well."
"Hm." Dylan lay down next to her.
The two stared at the ceiling, until hearing faint voices outside. Dylan sat up and looked near the door, listening to whom they belonged to.
"That must be Cole and Abby." she said.
"Yeah, they also probably can't rest." Sam replied. There was a silence. "Look," Sam began, getting Dylan's attention back. "I told you about my life, can I at least know about yours?"
Dylan sighed, lying back down on the bed.
"It's not as interesting as yours." She looked over at Sam. "You're sure? It could put you to sleep."
"It's fine." Sam chuckled.
"Alright." Dylan blew her hair out of her face. "Well, I grew up in Cubania, and after years of dealing with my parents strict rules, I moved out with my brother to the United Cities. Hoping I'd find some sort of freedom and I knew that getting into colleges would be way easier. I wouldn't have to go by my parents' requests and dreams, I could go by my own."
"Tell me more about your family. You've mentioned your brother but that's about it."
"Well, my brother Audré lives on the other side of Gravestone, near Volkov, so I don't get to see him very often." she paused. "My other two siblings, Raven and Tame both still live in Cubania with my parents. I can't blame them because they're only seven." she laughed a bit.
She heard Sam make a small laughter sound, which made her smile.
"And my parents...well, you kind of get the jist on them. I couldn't do much of anything that I liked to do. Couldn't draw. Couldn't read as many books as I wished I had. Couldn't hang out with friends. All I could really do was study or bake."
"What about when they were away?"
"Had to stay home. That was Audré's time to escape and go out with friends or venture. I liked being home alone, don't get me wrong, but..a part of me wanted to go with him. To at least know what he was up to."
"Maybe he was finding a way out. Or at least some sort of way out of his mind. I did that a lot when I was a kid. Just go outside at night while my mother slept and just sit on the roof or the nearest park. Watching the sky and forgetting everything."
The two went quiet when both Abby and Cole's voices weren't heard anymore.
"Do you think they went back in?" Dylan whispered.
"Yeah, or maybe they left for the night." Sam whispered.
"To do what?"
"Makeout? It's clearly obvious they both like each other. I could tell from the way they acted in the cabin and the van."
"Really? I couldn't tell."
"Maybe it's because I'm not oblivious." Sam smiled.
Dylan scoffed a laugh and gently hit Sam's shoulder. "Asshole." she chuckled.
"I'm just saying." Sam laughed back.
"Well, then we should probably get some rest then. If we stay up any later we could possibly get attacked by the Sins and not know it."
"Or the infection." Sam mentioned.
Dylan sat up and sighed. "Right. I forgot about that too."
"It's fine, nothing's going to hurt us." Sam assured her. She watched as Dylan went around in the bed and got in through the other side. She waited a couple moments until assuming Dylan was fully asleep. "Or you. Nothing's going to hurt you."
She moved gently and slowly moved the blanket until she was under it. She kept distance between them and soon the two fell into a deep sleep.
