After the few hours, Finn drove Sam, Dylan and Audré back to Dylan's apartment.
Dylan immediately went to her bed and began to rest while Audré sat on the window seal, taking in the cold autumn breeze.
"Do you want me to stitch you up?" Sam asked.
"Please." he dropped his head.
Sam let a smile form and she came over to him with thread and a needle.
"Have you cleaned it?" Sam asked.
"Finn did when we got to the apartment." he sighed.
Audré shifted his body so that Sam had a better view of how to stitch him up.
"Just tell me if I hurt you." Sam said, beginning the stitch.
"Mhm." he winced.
She took her time, making sure it was tight enough.
"So, how was working with Dylan before you found me?" he asked.
"It was interesting. We had to escape to Willow Water for a while. That's how we met Grace and Finn. We really only came to you because—" she explained.
"You needed a bag, I know. And I never gave you any."
"Really? I had no clue." Sam said sarcastically.
Audré let out a chuckle. "Well, considering I had to play an act before the Sins came, I had to stall."
"Yeah, I'm just glad she was able to learn in a matter of a day and under pressure. I feel bad because I should've had more time to teach her the language. Now I have to do that on my own."
"Why do you say that?"
Sam finished threading and cut the string, placing down the needle and scissors.
"Because I know the Sins are coming back in four years." she looked up at him. "It's too obvious. They clearly didn't get what they wanted and they'll do anything just to have it once."
Audré sighed. "Yeah, and it's worse because she's just in college. You'll have to teach her Note Keeper things and I have to teach her things in college. Like things she needs help with."
"She can't get help there?"
"No one likes her there. Why? I don't know. But, I said I'd help if she needed it."
Sam sighed. "Well, at least she can count on you. I doubt she'll be interested in wanting to learn with me."
"She'd do anything to not relive these past couple days."
"For four years? Living in fear for when they come back?"
"She'd rather be prepared and cautious rather than nearly die the next time. Or see one of us die."
Sam looked down and looked out the window. Seeing a distance light. But not any sort of light. One that had sparks.
"I'm assuming that's the group in Willow Water." she said.
Audré looked out and saw it too.
"Oh, I guess that's a signal for an end." he shrugged. He looked around then back at Sam. "Thank you. For helping and saving my sister. I'm glad you were able to keep her safe even if it meant you getting hurt."
Sam looked back up at him. Looking into the blue of his eyes that were similar to Dylan's.
"Yeah." she responded, not being able to think of a response.
"I'll see you in the morning." he said, getting off the window seal and waving goodnight to Sam.
Sam waved back, but was left with a confused feeling in her gut. A feeling that made her wonder for the rest of the night as she slept on the couch.

Samantha
I woke up in my bed again. In my body. I felt around, confused, making sure it was real. And it was. Relief settled over me and tears ran down my face.
Never in my life had I felt more happy than to be back in my body. And not some creature who forced me to try and kill people. I sobbed hard into my knees. Not a somber sob. But a sob that made me happy.
I didn't realize my volume when my roommate Linkin came in. He also had tears running down.
We both had this happen to each other. I jumped off my bed and ran to him, holding him tightly and not wanting to let go.
"We're back." I sobbed.
"We are." he sobbed back. "And we're safe."
I sniffled into his shirt. Taking in his scent.
I missed it. I missed that scent. I have for the past months when I was that creature.

Just as always, four years had passed. Dylan graduated college. Sam taught her the language as well as get closer with her brother.
The three had times where they all were together and laughing. Others it'd just be two of them.
But they enjoyed every moment with them just so that they could forget about what they thought would come. And just as Sam predicted, it had come true. But through a message from Grace.
Grace-
They're back. We're headed to Midnight City where Jake was found. You should head there too. The Sins might know where the note is.
Sam released a shudder.
"What is it?" Dylan asked.
"I was right." she looked at Audré. "They're back. In Midnight City."
"It's okay, we have ti–" he began.
"Grace says they might know where the note is. We have to leave today." Sam interrupted.
And so they did. Without packing or hesitating, they got in a car and began their journey to Midnight City.
Only time would tell what would happen next.
