CHAPTER 28: "TTFN! - Ta Ta For Now!"
Me and Skye were both taking our time, walking while we were both talking.
"See! I told you! I knew that you could do it!" Skye said with glee, gazing up at me.
Seeing her all chipper made me smile, despite on being exhausted, I removed my techwear mask and finally was able to breathe better.
"All thanks to you. I really appreciate you being out there for me.." I said breathlessly but very much meant it.
Skye nodded "Yeah. It made me think about what your dad said tonight about a support system. So tonight I decided to head out there and be your support system." She sweetly spoke while flashing me her cute smile.
This made my heart melt when hearing this while I stood, gazing at with adoration. I was impressed but also touched by what she said.
I felt as if my eyes grew big like a puppy. "Really?....." I asked.
Skye nodded "Of course! I figured you'd like the idea of having me as your cheerleader?" She teased playfully. "And speaking of! Your dad was so funny when throwing those pom poms at Max" she added out while giggling.
I playfully rolled my eyes "Pfft! Yeah, you should've seen the way he was gathering them into his jacket" I said and chuckled softly.
Skye softly laughs while I laughed with her for a moment then I watched her settle down.
"I can't wait until the show is over so that we both could head out for our second date! I wonder where we'll head out to this time?" She asked while sweetly blinking her eyes at me.
When reminding me about the date, my smile slowly died down as I let out a sigh, rubbing the back of my neck with my free hand.
"Yeahhh........About that, Skye........I'm afraid I have some bad news......" in a low tone while fearing that she'll be upset if I drop our second date tonight.
Skye looked at me confused "Oh?.." then she tilted her head at me as I could see a hint of worry in her eyes "What happened? What's the bad news?.."
I gathered as much courage as I could by taking a deep breath and exhaled lightly.
"I'm afraid some responsibilities came up and I really need to attend to them......As much as I desperately want to go out with you after the show.......I can't. Oh god..." I said then placed my hand over my face, ashamed.
"I hope you're not upset with me?...." I asked her while afraid to see her reaction.
That's when I felt her gently moved my hand away from my face, holding onto it with a gentle squeeze. "No need to hide from me, I understand. Really. There's always a next time you know." She reassured me.
My head was lowered to the side while my eyes darted to the floor like some dog that doesn't want to look at the damage that's done.
Skye softly spoke "Hey. Look at me" That's when I felt her gently turned my head to face her.
"I'm not upset with you if that's what you think. It's no big deal, we still have so much ahead of us that we'll be able to go on many other dates together." She said to me.
I find myself getting lost into her eyes, there it goes again. That trance pulling me into her stare, some strong invisible force that fills me with the urge of wanting to kiss her.
So desperately I wanted to feel her sweet lips on mine, wanting to hold her in my arms and never let go. I know she said that she understood if I can't take her out tonight though I couldn't help but beat myself up over it.
The inner me tried clawing it's way out like a stray cat, dying to escape out of the house for freedom and fresh air. It absolutely kills me that I had to cancel tonight's date, ughh I hate this punishment dad gave me.
To remain professional, I restrained my deepest temptations and kept my composure.
"I'm glad to know that I haven't upset you for canceling our date. I guess I'll.........." I began then took one more deep breath and gulped down hard then finished my sentence while trying not to sound down about it. "See you next time...."
Skye released my hand while she smiled softly and waved at me. "TTFN"
This made me smile a bit while I replied "Ta ta for now..." then I made my way down to the dressing room to get changed.
Afterwards, I left AEW and made my way to the hotel where my dad and Darby are probably waiting for me at.
