𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐀'𝐒 heart raced as she locked eyes with Jungwon; her breath caught in her chest as she absorbed the weight of his words.
His voice, like honeyed velvet, sent shivers down her spine, electrifying every inch of her body.
She couldn't believe that the handsome officer standing before her, had known her all along.
"Jung...won,"
As she stammered out his name, Jungwon's face drew closer to hers, their bodies now mere inches apart.
She was lost in the moment, caught up in the intensity of their contact.
Jungwon's lips curved into a sly smile, sending her heart a flutter.
He knew the effect he had on her, and he revelled in it.
Cheonsa's introverted nature had returned, but he found it endearing, a reminder of the timid girl he had once known in high school.
Yet in that brief moment, as she met his intense gaze, she couldn't help but notice the tantalisingly small distance between them.
Then, she saw his eyes flicker down to her lips, causing a flurry of butterflies to take flight in her stomach.
Though she knew she had to maintain her composure, the thought of feeling his soft, tender kisses on her lips sent more butterflies to her stomach.
As Cheonsa's heart raced with a mixture of anxiety and desire, she gathered her wits and gently but firmly pushed Jungwon away.
"Fuck, you're driving me mad,"
Cheonsa's frustration boiled over with a heavy cuss as she felt her grip on reality slipping away.
Her breath caught in her chest as she squinted her eyes, trying to make sense of the overwhelming emotions flooding her;
her sudden shyness, feeling like she had regressed back to her more vulnerable version of herself.
Jungwon's acute senses picked up the sound of an unintentional cuss from her lips, causing a subtle yet noticeable curvature at the ends of his lips.
With a playful tone, he asked,
"I do?"
Cheonsa's face contorted with embarrassment as she squinted her eyes and lowered her head, berating herself for being caught off-guard.
Despite her attempts to play it off, her cheeks remained flushed with shame.
"I'm glad that you're doing well - I think, Cheonsa,"
Jungwon said, his voice laced with sincerity.
Cheonsa lifted her head to meet his gaze, but her face only grew redder.
"Whatever,"
She rolled her eyes in a half-hearted attempt to brush off the embarrassment.
Jungwon's playful teasing didn't stop there, as he reminded her of a long-forgotten memory.
"I've held onto the card you gave me on the last day of school. You really thought that we would never cross paths again, huh?"
A snicker escaped his lips as Cheonsa's mind raced back to that moment, a wave of nostalgia washing over her.
As she tried to remember the details of that day, Cheonsa couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion.
How could she have forgotten such a significant memory?
