𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐖𝐎𝐍'𝐒 heart thumps wildly as he feels the heat rising up his neck, painting his cheeks in a bright shade of crimson.

He looks like a ripe tomato ready to be plucked from the vine.

His hands grip the window frame of Cheonsa's car so tightly that his knuckles turn white as if he's holding on for dear life.

"Why am I being like this"

he wonders to himself.

"No, I shouldn't ask that. Why is she being like this now when she used to be very introverted back in high school?"

As to Cheonsa's view,

When she sees Jungwon's head tilting down, she begins to worry that he might be upset with her.

She desperately hopes her actions haven't caused any offence and doesn't want their conversation to turn negative.

"Sorry, officer, my foot got a little too happy on the gas pedal there. I promise to keep it under control from now on. So, if you could continue to write me that ticket, I'll be out of your hair faster than a bald guy in a hair salon. And don't worry, and I'll leave as fast- i mean safely as possible and never ever disturb you ever again. Cross my heart and hope to drive sober."

Cheonsa spits out her words like a machine gun on caffeine.

"...What?"

Jungwon looked at her confused but then slowly melted into laughter; relived as he realized that she had misunderstood his act.

Cheonsa's heart felt like it had been lifted from her chest as she felt relieved that he wasn't mad at her actions.

Again, It was as if she was transported back to high school, where she spent hours daydreaming about Jungwon's contagious laughter and boyish charm.

But this time was different.

She found herself smiling back at him.

Her view of him is better as he is now laughing close to her view than 5 seats apart from her back in high school.

The sound of his laughter was music to her ears.

The unfinished ticket in front of them became a distant memory as she basked in the warmth of his smile.

As they laid their eyes on their long-forgotten high school crushes, their hearts raced Into fireworks like the night sky of the 4th of July.

It was as if their candles of interest for one another that were once abandoned after graduation had been lit again.
