The jerk that is Theo Dannis

We walk into the kitchen just in time to nab two seats. But their on opposite sides of the table.

I take the seat beside Finn. "Where's Rosie?" I ask, speaking in Ancient Atlantan.

He gestures down the table. I look and see her sitting nests to her mother.

"So," I inquire, still talking in my native tongue. "What happened?"

"Nothing much," Finn replies in the same language. But he's smiling. Which means he's lying.

"What really happened?"

"We hung out and talked. She told me," He pulls a pad of paper out of his pocket. "Her favourite colour is fuchsia," he reads. "Her best friend is Margie Ripple, her-"

"Finn!" I exclaim, a little too loudly. Some heads swing our way. I wince.

I hush my tone. "You were actually made a list?! Girls don't like be interrogated!" Look, I'm fluent in my native language, but when I get upset, something has to go. In this case, it's my grammar that is sacrificed.

Finn throws his head down on the table. "Now what?" he asks.

I rub the back of his head. "Just ditch the notepad. Get to know her. Be your normal, charming self." He lifts his head off the table and smiles. "There! That's the smile!"

A lady, who I suspect is a hired caterer, puts a plate of a weird-looking food in front of me. "What's this?" I ask the woman.

She looks at me strangely. "Pizza?"

I nod and look around. Everyone is holding the wider end and eating the narrow end. I try to imitate them.

Holy cow! Pizza's good!

After dinner, we eat cake and then it's time to leave.

Theo hugs his mom and sister while Finn and Steven wait in the car.

On the way out, Theo grabs my wrist and says, "What went on between us today, I'm gonna pretend it never happened. You should too."

"Oh. Okay,"

Then he walks off, leaving me alone on the porch. After getting over the initial shock, I will my legs to walk me to the car. I see Finn sitting in the middle and Theo sitting on his left. I purposely walk around the car so I don't have to climb over the jerk who is Theo Dannis.
