A few hours later, we're all packed up and are saying our goodbyes in the foyer. I'm hugging Finn tightly. "I'm really gonna miss you. Take care of Ray. Don't let him get into trouble."
"I won't," He lets go of me and moves on to the girls. Ray comes up to me and we do our secret handshake.
"See you soon." he says. I nod and pull him into a hug.
Steven taps my shoulder. "It's time to go." I nod and sling my tote bag over my shoulder.
Nemmy grabs my hand and looks up at me. "It's okay, Topee. We'll see them again."
I wipe the tears out of my eyes and smile down at her. "Yes, we will."
Steven helps us into the car and starts the engine. As we drive off, I see the boys in the window waving to us. I smile and wave back.
"I went out this morning and got you all some necessities." Jaclyn says, handing me a big Forever 21 bag. I look in and pull out an off-white sweater with a pale vintage rose pattern. I smile and dig more. There are magenta leggings for me, an aquamarine sweater with black stars for Angel, and an orange tank top with a satin bow for Nemmy. Under that are black leggings for Angel and jeans for Nemmy.
"Thank you so much!" I exclaim.
"There's more," Jaclyn tells me. She hands back an Indigo bag filled to the rim with books for all ages.
"Read me one, Topee!" Nemmy shrieks. She pulls the top one off the pile. It's the first Twilight book.
"Um, not this." I say, putting it back in the bag. I pull out Humpty Dumpty. "This is better." I've already read her the book and four others by the time we arrive at the airport twenty minutes later.
