I close my eyes and jump down into the room below. "Freeze!" Theo shouts at Prince, pointing his dart gun at him.
Prince begins to yell for security, but I say, "Just wait. We come in peace."
He quiets down and signals for us to come closer. "Who are you?" He asks. His voice is as vile as his army.
"I am Topaz Rivera," His eyes widen with recognition of my name. "And I want to make you a deal."
"Come here, girl." He crooks a pale finger at me. I approach him warily, keeping my knife ready. "What's the deal?"
I glance back and see Theo still has his dart gun aimed at the man. I point my knife at him too and bend down to take the contract from my duffle bag.
"Topaz, duck!" Theo yells. I drop to the floor and hear Theo shoot at Prince. Prince presses a red button on the wall and an alarm starts wailing. Red lights are flashing.
"Go, go go!" Theo shoos me up my rope and I use the adrenaline pulsing through me to get back into the vent. We're basically running on our hands and knees through the shaft. A few minutes later, we're already on the roof. We look down and see enemy agents swarming around. Theo unties the rope from his waist and swings it like a lariat. It hooks on to a tree a hundred metres away. He grabs me by the waist and we literally swing down into the tree.
Once hidden in the leaves, Theo whips out his communicator and presses a blue button. It starts to buzz a minute later.
"The car's waiting for us a kilometre away." he tells me. Theo sharply tugs his rope and it quickly undoes from the roof top. We silently drop down onto the ground and begin to run. We don't stop until we reach the car. I throw my duffle bag into the trunk, hop in to the back seat, and we take off.
"Where's your bag?" I ask Theo.
"I think I forgot it." Then he starts to tell the driver what happened.
An hour later, we pull up to the house. Theo and I walk up to the front door. I ring the doorbell. I hear Steven hush everyone before opening the door. "Topaz!" He lifts me up and spins me around. Then he shakes Theo's hand.
Everyone comes flooding to the door and envelopes me and Theo in hugs.
Two minutes later, Steven says, "Okay, don't ask why, but all of you go to the Bunker now. Topaz and Theo, stay behind. Finn your in charge." Finn nods and herds Angel, Nemmy, and Ray down the stairs to the basement.
Then I see a black car pull up. Then another. And another.
Dozens of men pop out of every vehicle, but no one is moving. "Steven, what's going on?!" I ask.
"Just watch," he says.
I comply and look back out the window.
The men are heading towards the front door.
But before any of them can even lay a finger on it, thousands of men in dark blue uniforms pop out from behind the shrubs, from underneath the porch, from everywhere.
It's the Atlantan Army!
Ten minutes later, every man is cuffed and being loaded into the Atlantan cars.
"Steven, what just happened?!" I exclaim.
"Well, I was worried about you leaving, so last night, Theo and I devised a plan. You were to lead the army to us so we could capture them. The stall on Theo's phone was Peter. He was letting him know that we were ready to receive the Poseidonians. We made the kids go down to the bunker just in case "
"That is brilliant!" I dash into Steven's arms again. Then Peter's. Then I just hug everyone again.
