Castle-like feeling

The next morning, I wake up and am confused about where I am. Then I remember yesterday.

I'm lying beside Nemmy who has somehow turned herself upside down, so her feet are by my head and vice versa.

Jaclyn peaks into the room. "Good morning, sleepyhead."

I smile. "Good morning."

"Would you mind waking the other kids up? Breakfast is ready."

"Of course." She ducks out of the room.

I roll over and shake Nemmy awake. "Good morning, Sweets." I say when she opens her tiny eyes.

"Hi, Topee."

"Do you wanna get dressed? Breakfast is ready." She nods and stands up. Cat gave me, Jaclyn, Angel and Nemmy each a nightgown to wear at night. I dress her in the clothes she wore yesterday and brush her hair with the brush Cat left out for us.

After we're done, she thanks me and leaves for the dining room. I bend down beside Angel and trace the perimeter of her face with my finger. I often did this at home. She smiles and opens her eyes. "Good morning, Topee."

I look down at her and brush her hair out of her eyes. "Hi Cutie Pie. Are you hungry?" She nods groggily. "Go get dressed. Breakfast is ready." She gets up and complies so I scoot my way over to the other side of the blankets where Finn and Ray are still asleep. I shake them both.

"Five more minutes," Ray moans.

I giggle. "I don't think so! Both of you. Up. It's breakfast time."

They moan and groan, but listen to me. In ten minutes, we're gathered around the table eating pancakes. Well, not all of us. Jaclyn's out shopping and Stevens in the living room, nerding out on his phone. "Did everybody sleep well?" Cat asks. We all nod.

Steven walks into the room holding up his phone and beaming ear to ear. "I got us a house!"

"Really? Where?" I ask

"Stratford, Ontario." He hands me his phone. Jaclyn looks over my shoulder. On the screen is a humongous two story house in a generic neighbourhood.

"Looks perfect. When are we going?" The house really does look perfect. It has a castle-like feeling with big windows and grand features. I click on the inside view and the screen flickers and displays a view from the foyer of the house. The interior matches the exterior with its formal look.

"We can leave today, if you'd like." Steven tells us.

"No! I like it here!" Nemmy whines.

"But it's not safe." Angel counters.

I don't know what to say. On one hand, I want to go somewhere else to keep my brothers safe. But on the other hand, I don't want to leave them.

I take a deep breath. "I think it's in all of our best interests for us to leave. The Poseidonians are looking for me and Nemmy. Not the boys. The greater distance between us, the safer we all will be. Excuse me, but I need to go pack." I stand up, bring my plate to the kitchen, and then sulk to the bedroom.
