Summary: after the battle of the Storm Spire, Enya and Soren finally return home to Katolis with their friends and turn in for the night
----
"Finally home!" Ezran yells as the wagon rides over the bridge leading up to the castle courtyard. "Home at last! Someone wake Soren up!"
Enya, who Soren was leaning against as he snored a bit too loudly, chuckles before putting a hand on his shoulder to gently shake him. The teen gives a snort, but doesn't open his eyes, instead just slumps to the side until he slides onto Enya's lap. "Oh come on, you must be faking it."
"Should I zap him?" Callum asks, lifting a finger.
"No, I'll wake him." Enya scolds before leaning down close to her husband's face and presses a gentle kiss to his cheek. Soren gives a small groan but doesn't open his eyes. Frowning, Enya looks to Bait and motions for him to come over, which he does. "Do it."
Bait grunts in response before his tongue shoots out and smacks Soren in the nose. The teen yelps as he sits up, his hand trying to wipe at his nose to get the spit off. "EW EW WHO DID THAT?!"
"Had a nice nap?" Enya asks with a chuckle as the glow toad decides to climb onto her now unoccupied lap. "Sorry, we're home and I didn't want to have to carry you inside."
"Isn't that what married couples do? One carries the other across the threshold of their home?" Soren asks, rubbing his nose.
"You are supposed to carry her, not the other way around." Rayla points out from the front of the wagon.
"Well either way, someone is carrying someone." Barius laughs from the front. "Besides, it doesn't really matter."
"I have to head to my home, there's something I need to check on." Enya says as the wagon rolls to a stop and she hops out. "Gotta make sure nothing got stolen while we were gone."
"Why would anyone steal from her of all people?" Rayla asks as the young tailor hurries off. "She just makes clothes."
"Yeah but the cloth she and her dad use to make stuff for the previous king and some nobles is pricey and difficult to replace due to how hard it is to even get it in the first place." Soren explains. "Like Neolandian silk, ooh I think once king Harrow had Damian make him a jacket of Durenian cotton and that stuff is super expensive."
"Yeah and Bait nearly tore it to shreds in the winter." Ezran says. "Point is, Enya has tons of important stuff in her home that's difficult to replace. So she needs to make sure it's all accounted for."
"Wow...guess I should be more mindful of my clothes." Rayla says. "Oh, where will I sleep?"
"A guest room, we'll have a servant prepare you one." Callum responds. "Gosh, I think I have to clean up my room now that Ezran isn't sleeping there anymore."
Ah, Soren almost forgot about this. He and Enya were married now, and married couples slept in the same room and shared a bed, and that meant...they would too. But his room was quite a mess since the last time he tried to clean it, and that certainly wasn't a room he wanted his new wife to sleep in. Once everyone had exited the wagon, Soren hurries off to his own bedroom. As he suspected, it was an absolute mess he really didn't want his new wife to live in. Sure she had been in his room before, at least to deliver fixed clothes or that one time to nurse him back to health, but that was when it was clean and now she just delivered the clothes to him in person instead of leaving them in the bedroom. And right now, the place was a mess. Clothes were strewn on the floor, his desk was littered with papers, his bed was messy and half the blankets were on the floor, and the room smelled like dirty socks too. Soren gags at the smell before rushing to the windows to push them open to get fresh air in and surveys the mess.
