Chapter 22

Fist Bump

I woke up feeling really good. Minulat ko ang mata ko and saw Kevin beside my bed. Nakaupo siya sa floor at nakaunan sa kama ko. Nakatulog siguro siya sa pag-aalaga saken, i must thank him so much for this. At kailangan bumawi ako sa kanya. I stare at his face, to be honest, I don't know but I'm feeling something strange whenever I'm with him. He has a perfect face. Tantalizing eyes, pointy nose, perfect lips and perfect jaw. He has everything, and kung sino man yung gusto niya, she is really lucky.

I stood up and put a blanket on his shoulders then naligo na ko and wear my maxi floral dress and my beach sandals. Paglabas ko ng c.r, Kevin's already awake.

"Are you okay now?" He asked me at parang nagtataka pa siya dahil bihis na bihis na ko agad. Lumapit ako sa bed ko.

"Yeah, thanks to my great doctor" he smiled and he asked me why I'm dressed. I look at the clock and it's 10 in the morning so I told him na maligo na din kase iti-treat ko siya for taking care of me last night. Not just last night but always. When he's finished I receive a text message from Trisha while naglalakad kame.

Hey Denise! Trisha here :) I got your number from Jen then she got your number from your boyfriend. So the gang is expecting you to bond with us later we'll be hanging out. Text me if you got my message.

I replied as I read the message.

To: Trisha
Trisha hi. Thanks for reminding me, pwede ba mamayang mga late afternoon tayo mag-meet?

I asked her cos I have a plan this morning because I owe someone a treat for taking care of me. My phone rings and I answered it immediately. It was Trisha.

"Hey" she started, medyo tahimik sa background niya so feeling ko tulog pa ang mga yon. As always, especially on vacations like this laging late sila nagising. I miss being with them.

"Uhm hi Trisha. Tulog pa sila? Ang tahimik ah" i giggled and she did too and I was right. Trisha told me they are still sleeping.

"So yun nga Denise, they're expecting a hangout with you. Makakasama ka ba?" She asked me and of course yeah. I miss them and I'm excited to be with them too. Except the fact that Josiah is there, and Krisha too. I don't know how to react. It doesn't hurt me, the fact that they're together honestly it doesn't hurt me but it still affects me.

"Yeah oo naman. Namiss ko kayo eh. Pero pwede bang yun nga yung tinext ko sayo. Pwede bang mga late afternoon?"

"Oh yes mga 3pm is that okay? Bakit may lakad ka agad early this morning?" She asked me. She call 10am early? I can't believe her haha.

"Trisha hindi na early no it's already past 10 you guys are such a sleepyhead and yeah, may lakad ako ngayon because I owe someone a treat for taking care of me." I glance at Kevin and he's not looking at me but I see him smiling. I kinda blushed.

"Oh a date with your boyfriend then..." She giggles and I did too. Though I know deep inside me that Kevin's not really my boyfriend. We just pretend as couples. I know marami siyang gustong itanong pero di niya lang tinatanong ngayon. Maybe later?

"Sige na I'll hang up na nakaka-abala pa ko sa date niyong mag-jowa eh. Bye and see you later Denise!" Then she hangs up. I keep my phone and continued walking beside Kevin.

"You owe me a treat huh? Well then you know me Den. I don't let women pay for me, I don't let anyone pay for me." Napa-simangot ako sa sinabe niya and agad akong nag-react.

"No way Kev! Ako magbabayad ngayon and if you don't agree okay I will let you pay but I will not talk to you" i said na natatawa because I guess okay na okay lang sa kanyang di ko siya kausapin like what's the big deal d'ba?

"Ugh fine, fine you'll pay." Nagulat pa ko ng pumayag siya kaya I was so happy. I break one of his beliefs in life lol. So kumain kame sa isang, ofcourse seafood restaurant. Sobrang ganda ng ambiance dito, sobrang chill at nakaka-good vibes. Umorder na kame and started eating.

"So you'll be hanging out with your friends later?" He asked me and oh I forgot to tell him nga pala about that. I nod and answered him.

"Oh yes. Nalimutan kong sabihin sayo. Is it okay?" I asked cos I don't know but I have this feeling na kailangan ko mag-paalam sa kanya.

"Of course you can Den, I'm just kinda... Kinda worried cos you know" na-gets ko agad yung gusto niya iparating kaya napa-ngiti ako.

"You're worried kase baka mag-breakdown ako don kase nandon si Josiah with his girlfriend?" He shrugs and I know I'm right. Yeah I'm nervous about that tought pero I'm sure na hindi ako magbe-breakdown. I'm okay now. I know but honestly, I really feel okay now.

"No I won't. Okay na ko. Feeling ko okay na talaga ako. Yeah I'm nervous but I know deep inside me na okay na ko so wag ka ngang O.A" Minsan talaga napaka-O.A ng lalaking to. Ewan ko ba dito.

"So what are your plans for that girl you like? Don't tell me wala parin?" I don't know pero ayun yung biglang lumabas sa bibig ko para itanong. I saw him smirk.

"I'm thinking of starting the plan already..." He said and I felt happy for him but a part's of me is uhm, I don't know. Magulo.

"Really? That's great sa wakas naman" tinawanan ko siya but he looks so serious pero naka-ngiti. Ano daw? Haha.

"Yeah. I think she's not moved on completely but maybe I could help her move on completely. She told me she's getting okay, I mean better. But it's still affecting her as I see but I'll help her..." He said. Wow, parang pinapayagan niya na din yung sarili niya na maging rebound nung girl. That girl is really lucky.

"You mean you're willing to be her... Uhm to be her..." I can't complete my sentence. Parang di ko kayang sabihin sa kanya.

"To be her rebound? Yes I am willing. It's okay. She got me, I didn't expect this one. I like her so much, to be honest. And I'm willing to do everything just to make her happy." Woah. This is blowing my mind. Kevin's the boyfriend material. I never expect him to be this romantic lol. He doesn't deserve being a rebound but if that's the only way he'll get that girl then maybe i'll support him on this.

We ate and nag-usap lang kame ng nag-usap about everything and we decided na maglakad-lakad lang and mag-chill sa isang magandang spot. Until it's already time for me to go sa mga friends ko.

"Where are they?" He asked me dahil ihahatid niya daw ako kung nasan man sila.

"Trisha texted me and nandon daw sila sa..." So I told him where they are and naglakad kame papunta don. Sa malayo palang rinig ko na tawanan nila and I already spotted them nakapalibot sa isang bonfire cos yeah it's already cold in here. I'm only wearing my spaghetti strap maxi dress na lalong nakakapang-lamig.

"Oh Denise is here! Oh he's with Kevin!" Ashley shouted when she saw us kaya napatingin silang lahat samen and I feel na nahihiya si Kevin kase napahawak siya sa likod ko. Nagtayuan sila and lumapit sa amin para bumeso at maghi narin kay Kevin and bumalik sila sa mga upuan nila.

"Uhm so guys I haven't introduced Kevin formally sa inyo. Uhm so Kev, this one here is Ashley and her boyfriend Pierre, then next to them is Matthew and her girlfriend Trisha, next to her is Ezra then Jacob..." Nakipagfist-bump ang boys kay Kevin while si Trisha and Ashley nakipag-handshake lang. Hindi ko matuloy ang sasabihin ko kase it's them na ipapakilala ko na.

"And uhm... Of course yeah I just met her yesterday too Krisha and uhm his boyfriend uhm Josiah." Nakipag-handshake si Krisha kay Kevin then nagkatitigan si Kevin and Josiah and sobrang tumahimik until they finally fist bump.
