Lady Gisela's POV
"We need to get that idiot out," I yelled, pacing across the room. Gethen laughed. Ever since they cut me out of their plans and left me to die in an ogre prison, Fintan has been in charge. It has never been my plan to let that idiot run things. Fintan and his annoying obsession with Noxflares.
"Don't you have that Imparter that you rigged so your son could have a way to reach you?" Gethen inquired.
I stopped in my tracks. "What about it?"
"What better way to stop Fintan than to use your son and his obnoxious Black Swan buddies?"
I nodded approvingly. "Nicely done, Gethen. Way to prove you're not useless like the others."
"Not time to play games, Gisela. Who knows what will happen when Fintan's in charge?" Gethen frowned.
"We need to get to Nightfall first," I decided. "We should ask my son to go there. They need to go to the Everblaze sites to get ash, and then they wouldn't be bothered by the Gorgodons."
"I told you that you shouldn't have built those beasts," Gethen reminded me. "I mean, they were more powerful than they could have ever imagined. The only thing that can kill them is fire, and..."
"Pyrokinetics," I grumbled. "Fintan always thinks he's above everybody."
"Didn't he say that the Black Swan's new recruit was a Pyrokinetic too? Someone with the name of... Gossip Master?" Gethen snickered.
"No, he meant the Redek girl. Fintan thinks he's hilarious." I rolled my eyes.
"I hate to crash this adorable little secret meeting," a voice behind me said. "But I heard my name?"
Fintan.
He smirked. "You really didn't think I would miss this?"
"How did you find us?" I gasped.
"You really think we cannot track our members?" Fintan explained. "And when I saw you and Gethen located near each other, I thought I'd interrupt this little secret meeting. Care to fill me in?"
Gethen and I looked at each other.
"Gisela's strategy. It's different from yours. All you need is a little more patience, Fintan. That's how you win the game." Gethen informed him.
