3rd POV

It's been about 5 days since the others had left. Lloyd and Zane were in and out, like they were now; Lloyd having gone to hang with Harumi while Zane was once again visiting Cyrus Borg and Pixal. Kai was in the monastery, on his own, as he was leaving Sensei Wu to his own devices.

Kai had decided to strip hid entire room and give ut a good clean to keep himself occupied. He had gotten to a small cupboard, that sat in the corner of his room and opened it. He began to take out his possessions when he noticed a canvas satchel, with a white envelope sitting ontop. They say curiosity kills the cat but, curiosity is what brought Kai to taking out the satchel and opening the letter. Pulling the folded letter out, he unfolded it and scanned over it.

Dear Kai,
By the time you read this letter, it means you have found the satchel I had hidden in your room last time I visited. If you found it, then it means it's time that you knew the truth.

Inside the satchel are 3 items; An old lion stuffie you had when you were little, a scroll and another special item that I am sure will raise a million and one questions. There's a lot that you need to be told but I believe it would be best to hear it from someone else; Your parents, and I dont mean me or Maya... I mean your birth parents.

Again, there is so much that needs to be explained, so please, use the map on the scroll to find them and they'll explain everything that me, Maya or even Wu can't.

Sincerely,
Ray
Your guardian/adoptive father.

Kai dropped the letter with a pounding heart. It was like his entire life had been a lie. His parents weren't who they said they are. With shakey hands, Kai pulled out the items that were mentioned in the letter. As Ray had stated, there was the lion stuffie, a scroll and-

"No...!" Kai gasped as he dropped the item, causing it to clatter to the ground and roll to his feet, as he sat against the wall; stuffie, scroll, satchel and letter surrounding him.

Why was there a crown?! Normal crowns were made of gold but this one was made of bronze with red rubies. Kai stared as he felt his heart shatter and he seemingly stopped breathing. When he did notice his breathing, he found it ragged and uneven. His heart thrashed against his rib cage, heart in his throat and his hands shake.

What's happening?! He's never felt like this before. He's never scared; acception of water and loosing both his new family and powers, but this unfamiliar feeling was scary. Foreign. Unfamiliar, unerving, unusual and uncomfortable. He tried to move but it was like he was glued to the spot. Tears aimlessly rolled down his face and his heart rate spiked once more.

Needing some form of comfort to distract his mind from this unfamiliarity, he reached out, picked up the plushie and held it to his chest with security. He then closed his eyes and burried it into the head of the Lion; the fake fur of the lion's mane tuckled his nose. He didn't even realise he was shaking until he felt two comforting hands on his shoulders to try and steady him.

Looking up, and through blurry teared vision, he saw Master Wu wearing a concerned look. The man didn't need to say anything but his general presence was enough to slightly steady Kai's rapid heart rate. He lowered his knees, in which he didn't even know he had pulled to his chest, as a few stray tears ran down his face.

"Are you alright, Kai?" He asked with a soft voice.

"I'm fine..." Kai mumbled; still clutching his lion plush. "I- I just don't know what just happened..."

"You had a panic attack. Its usually associated with anxiety but it can happened to anyone, regardless if they have anxiety or not."

"I've never had one of those before..."

"Do you know what could've triggered it?" Kai's eyes lingered to where the bronze, Ruby encrusted, crown sat, a little ways from his feet. "I see. I take it Ray told you?"

"Told me what?" Kai replied as his Burnt Sienna eyes manuvered to meet Sensei Wu's dull bluish-grey ones.

"Come with me." the man replied as he got up, joints cracking as he pulled himself up and used his bamboo staff to aid his movements.

Kai hesitantly followed, but he left the lion plush and other satchel contents behind. He followed Wu all the way to his own room before his teacher gestured for him to sit. Kai kneeled on the floor as Master Wu pulled out a scroll; that was tied iff with a royal red ribbon.

"I have scrolls dedicated to important information regarding you all." Wu began as he gestired to the stack. In the small shelf, there were 5 ither scrolls, all tued with ribbons that matched the signature colours of each team memeber. Wu sat before Kai. "This one is yours. It has some very interesting information that Ray told me to keep secret until the time it deemed necessary for you to know."

"Know what?" Kai questioned.

"You're more special than what you were lead to believe."

"I don't get it. I'm an Elemental Master. What's more special than that?"

"Because, Kai? You're A Prince."

"I'm A What-?!"

"A Prince. A Hidden Prince to be exact." Kai's confused look was enough of an indication for Sensei Wu to explain further. "A Hidden royal, or prince in your case, is someone who was born into a royal family but, due to events, caused the said royal to go into hiding and adopt a new identity. In your case; Your father, the king, asoed Ray to take care of you and do everything in his power to protect and keep you safe. As a result, some of your memories were blocked and some were altered to makenyou believe that the life you lead now, is your true calling."

"That would explain the weird dreams and visional memories I've been having."

"Oh?"

"Yeah... I've been seeing, and hearing, a woman and a man talk to me. Like it was something that had happened but i thought it could've been due to rememberance of a past life as they kept calling me Kearin."

"Kearin is your name."

"How? My name has always been Kai."

"Like I said before; your father asked Ray to do anything to keep you hidden and safe. And one of those things was changing your name from Kearin to Kai."

"So let me get this straight; I'm a Hidden Prince, my name was Kearin and the people I thought were my parents are actually my adoptive parents...?!"

"To put it simply; Yes. That is correct."

"Ok then. But explain to me how I inherited Ray's Elemental Power but not have an blood relation towards him?"

"Simple. Ray isnt an Elemental."

"WHAT?! HOW?!"

"In your home kingdom, all citizens were taught what is called as Blaze Sorcery; allowing everyone who learnt it, the ability to replicate the elemental power of Fire. Ray used his sorcery as a way to make it seem like you inherited your powers from him once you found out about them, when in reality? It was the queen, your biological mother whom was the real Fire Elemental Master."

"But what about the Serpentine War?!"

"Ray fought in honour of the queen as there was a serious matter, of an attack, in the kingdom at the time. The Kingfom of Kean needed its queen at the same time Ninjago needed the Master of Fire."

"In the letter, My father- Uh... Ray- mentioned how the scroll in the satchel was a map to the kingdom of my, presumable, origins."

"That's correct."

Kai held his head down as he but his lip and clutched the hemming of his shirt. He took a few moments before he looked up.

"I Think I'm Going To Take You Up On The Personal Journey Opportunity." Kai began. "Ive got a lot I need to know and I think the King and Queen of Kean are the only ones that hold the true answers."
